This site is 100% ad-free and link-free. It is based on a self-serve format. We make no money for supporting this resource so we hope it will help you find it to be the unbiased info about where to get senior care. Welcome to Assisted Senior Living, one of the most comprehensive and unbiased directories of senior care options.

Assisted Senior Living is not like any of the other senior housing sites on the web. Assisted Senior Living was created by caregivers, for caregivers. We have gathered information from state and federal sources, then combined it with public information to provide one of the most complete resources for seniors and caregivers (new senior care services are also welcome to create a free listing).
Services
This site was created after my sister and I had to find an assisted living facility for my dad in one traumatic week following his stroke. The process of moving dad into an assisted living facility (from the family home) was so difficult that I wanted to create a site to help others with senior care decisions.
Assisted Living is a service for people who need help with the activities of daily living (ADLs). Assisted living facilities are special facilities that span the gap between independent living and nursing homes. These facilities may be temporary or long-term housing. They are especially designed to help seniors who are mostly independent but need help with some of the day-to-day activities.
Nursing homes are facilities that provide 24/7 skilled nursing care for those who need a higher level of care than provided by an assisted living facility but who do not need hospital-level care. In addition to nursing care, they offer room and board, personal care, rehabilitation, therapies, and supervision.
Home Assisted Living has many different names including in-home senior care, residential senior care and in-home assisted living. Regardless of the name, this is a service where non-medical assistants (and sometimes medical personnel) help seniors with daily activities. This service can be just like that in an assisted living facility or it can be to a lesser degree.
Hospice care ( or palliative care as it sometimes called) is special end-of-life care provided by health professionals that help support the entire family during this transition. The goal of hospice care professionals is to help people who are dying feel peace, comfort and dignity. The caregivers may help by controlling pain and other symptoms so a person can remain as alert and comfortable as possible.
