I would give the hotel 5 stars but for the thermostat. The room was large and well furnished. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was high end. My problem with the thermostat is that there was no way to dim it, as far as I could tell, so it was very bright. What's the point of black out curtains if you have a bright light you can't turn off?

We were informed the day before our stay that all food and beverage would be closed for the next 7 days! I only found this information out when I called regarding another matter. With small children this was an amenity I was counting on for our stay, especially after a 6 hour drive. I was told we could just walk to the square for food. Very unprofessional and not the service I would expect from a “luxury” hotel. Oxford is too small town for anything with luxurious service as their work ethic is clearly work when you want to work.

We've stayed at Chancellor's House a couple times prior since our daughter's enrollment at U Miss and everything was fine. On our most recent stay, our room was damp and had a strong musty odor, so much so that after returning home, our clothes and belongings smelled musty. Our room was freezing cold at night, despite adjusting the thermostat. Our linens were damp and musty. The carpet throughout the hotel was stained and dirty. We love the location of the hotel in proximity to the square, but with the heavily inflated "game weekend" rates coupled with the poor condition of the rooms, we will stay

I had a very disappointing experience during my stay. The room was very nice, comfortable bed, But the air was not working right. It was so hot when I was getting dressed, that I was sweating! The parking that you are given a tag for your car to park in was full, so we had to park down the street. Our car got towed. $240.00. When I told the lady at the front desk when I was checking out, she didn't even acknowledge I had said anything! No apology, no anything! Needless to say, if I ever have to stay overnight again in Oxford, The Chancellors House would be the last place I would stay

We visited our granddaughter at Ole Miss and stayed there. The young lady (Christy) at the front desk was personable. There was plenty of free parking below the hotel. Our room was clean and quite large. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were exceptionally soft. My only draw back was we stayed during a renovation and workers were taking up flooring in the restaurant with a jack-hammer(very noisy). I felt that with hotel was exceptionally clean and will not hesitate to return.

Writing on behalf of my mom.
She drove from Louisiana to get away from Hurricane Ida and was planning to stay a few nights. When she first arrived which was at 3am she was greeted by a very helpful and nice lady (I cannot remember her name). A couple days later, she got in the elevator in the parking garage from the 2nd floor and it dropped to the first floor. I was only the phone with her at the time and heard a huge crash. It was a very scary situation! Before that incident the a/c in her room seemed to not work and she would wake up and it was 77 degrees. Well, after the elevator dropped she

I booked Chancellors House thinking we were going to be staying at a nice hotel, unfortunately I was wrong. Booked a room for 3 adults. My son's bed had the foulest odor. Room 205 bed by the window on the right side at the top of the bed smelled like it had been drug through New Orleans streets after 3 weeks of Mardi Gras partying. If you've ever smelled Nola in the morning you know what I mean. Disgusting! We told the front desk lady and she said she'd tell management the next day in the mean time that left the 3 of us in one bed- no room change. The air conditioner was not working

We stayed at the Hotel for 4 nights, we got very little sleep as the elevator dings so loud it could wake the dead! Not to mention the poor dogs that sound as if there being left in the rooms alone, constant barking.. there’s no food at all in the hotel or drinks and no mini fridge for outside drinks , when asking the front desk anything your rudely answered with a smile though, but still rude. We were told when asking if the restaurant would open on our stay we were told “ yeah well our chef died ok” there’s lots of restaurants nearby? .. And the carpet is filthy!! Not even attached to

Perfect March night on the patio. If you’re in Oxford and want cool drinks and great food, head to the patio at the Chancellor. I was treated royally. Margarita ( mint and ginger ), shrimp and grits, and sweet potato fries helped wrap up a long day! Great service by a darling Ole Miss accounting major in his second week of work. The food was fresh and flavored perfectly. If you need a spot to have a great meal in a relaxed outdoor setting, this patio is for you!

The bar is pleasant and the bartenders are friendly and if you ever get a chance to stay in or visit friends in the Governor's Suite don't pass it up. Probably the nicest hotel in Oxford and the restaurant keeps trying to improve. Hopefully they work out all the kinks and this place lives up to the expectations in the coming years.

We have stayed there multiple times and always enjoyed the atmosphere and beautiful rooms. The people there are top notch. Today was an even better experience. Although I am currently in GA, my mom and her… friends came for a special birthday lunch. I couldn’t be there so I asked Sarah at the restaurant to help with a surprise. She made sure the table had beautiful flowers and a glass of champagne ready for her arrival. Then added a choice of desert for after lunch. Her friends thought it was amazing and she felt like a Queen. My point is, they go above and beyond. Highly recommended

The bartenders, Drew and Megan, are great. So nice. The tapas are not consistent. The sweet chili shrimp goes from a light tempura batter to a heavy batter that is terrible. Had friends from out of state staying at the hotel, met for drinks and tapas. The menus delivered to our table , two were blank. Totally unacceptable. Also, would appreciate cocktail napkins with drinks and not have to ask for them. Great atmosphere.

Not only is their "bed side manner" absolutely impeccably impressive, but they can bring it to your door! While the rest leave a mint on your pillow (so to speak) they can bring a quality meal to your door via Landshark Delivery. Everything they do not only meets the mark, they surpass it. I called today to thank their service and I had the privilege of speaking with Claire. She was so lovely and so humble. In the dictionary Chancellor means "A senior state or legal official.

It's clean. Pretty much. I stayed here 5 nights and they didn't change my sheets but did change the towels. The food is so salty it's hard to eat, but then you don't feel guilty for eating a big southern meal. Everyone is really nice, but the room service closes early before 10:30 and you can't get a drink(no mini bar) or a snack. It feels corporate and cold but has one nice room in front of a fire place. There were two nice hotels recommended to me in town. I chose this one cause it had room service. But it really didn't.... so choose the other one maybe.

The rooms are nice and the staff friendly. The last time I stayed, however, in December 2018 I left one of my favorite pairs of shoes in my room. There is no question they were left in that room. I recall exactly where they were and the minute I unpacked my bag I noticed them missing. I called the hotel and they acknowledged the shoes had been found. They then shipped me "my shoes" which turned out to be another guest's pair of shoes. I called no less than 4 times alerting them to this and asking for my shoes and was told "they would look into it" and "someone would

While this beautiful hotel has a warm ambiance and southern charm, they have issues noise control. We booked a 2nd floor room with balcony access and the hospitality suite next door was given to the girlfriend of a hotel employee who had a party into the early morning hours with loud, thumping music that sounded like a dance club and men and women hollering through the night. While the manager tried to get them to calm down telling them a paying guest was staying in the suite next door, they proceeded to party with no regard for the paying hotel guests. A second call to the front desk was made

I am from oxford. Came home for Thanksgiving with family. I wanted this place to be awesome. Rooms were great. Very nice design etc. staff was very nice. The restaurant for breakfast was slow and understaffed. There seemed to be a lack of training. Breakfast items did not come out at same time, and food was cold. Coffee was actually lukewarm. Housekeeping cleaned our room and did not leave towels so we would have to call to take shower. Very nice building with well meaning staff. It seems the ownership has skimped on hospitality training as well as the running of the restaurant and housekeeping

If you are coming to oxford, this brand new hotel is a good place to stay. The people are amazing, location is right on the main downtown street and less than a mile from Campus. The rooms are above excellent. We stayed in the magnolia suite which boasted two bathrooms, a living room, large bedroom and an outdoor patio that was over 400 square feet. It overlooked the main drag into town and would be the ultimate party location for an ole miss game. Walking distance to the stadium. A couple of negatives. It's location also creates a noisy environment with all the cars. If you are a light sleeper

First time in Oxford, MS. Chancellor's House is a beautiful hotel. Perfectly located just outside the square. Staff is most hospitable, friendly, helpful and accommodating. Lovely bar and restaurant on site. We are not world travelers, but we are frequent travelers and we were made very comfortable at the Chancellor's House. Super place to stay.
