Services
In order to accommodate our high volume & accurately quote wait times, we limit our tables to a two-hour stay. If you would like to stay longer, please let the Manager On Duty know at the beginning of your visit. Sliced NY Strip tossed in a soy, curry & butter sauce served with sweet plantains & sweet chili cream sauce.
Our egg whites are pasteurized and impart a silky texture to the cocktail. The practice of adding egg whites to drinks is safe, flavorless and goes back over 100 years! Our specialty cocktails are original creations poured by our outstanding bartenders as an opportunity for you to try something unique, and for them to show off their skills!
As the weekend approaches, we host a variety of live music. Light acoustic sets pair perfectly with Wine Wednesday. On Throwback Thursday, our resident DJ and bartender extraordinaire DJ K5K takes the stage. Friday and Saturday nights feature live bands during late night, from funk to rock to bluegrass + everything in between.

Great service and delicious food! I got the Pesto Alfredo with blackened chicken and it was amazing. From the chicken to the side of bread, it was all made perfectly. The other members of my party got the Shrimp Tacos and the Brazilian Steak and both meals were throughly enjoyed. I recommend "The Local" and would definitely come back.

We came to Boone for a weekend getaway! We enjoy going to restaurants that aren't chains or restaurants we can go to when we are home. We searched, looked at all the restaurants around, read reviews and ultimately decided to come to The Local for lunch! My husband and I couldn't get over how GREAT and FRESH the food tasted! The service was great, along with the atmosphere! Later on in the day we couldn't decide where to eat for dinner. We discussed going to another restaurant that caught our eye, but we found ourselves back at The Local! They were so busy and usually when restaurants

When we first arrived, I was a little skeptical of the place. We made reservations and sat down to a table wobbling like a penguin. The waiter actually came over and saw me trying to balance the table with my napkin. He fixed it by turning the table stands pegs which leveled the table. Didn't know you could do that! Little tip for people who don't know!
I wasn't that hungry so I got the BLT which had feta cheese on it. Simple as it is, it was one of the best BLTs I've had. The food had flavor and the service was great. Definitely recommend eating here.

Fun, energetic environment with top notch food. The bar is serious and makes many delicious drinks, and the kitchen is fully capable for all their meals, including a wood fired oven for the pizzas and Flatbread. They are able to host parties of >15 people and made for a great Christmas party location.

I'm from California and a big foodie! We tried the local based off Yelp reviews and the fact they have an open bar. We ordered dry rub chicken wings, cheese curds and Thai beef tidbits. Wow! The Thai beef tidbits with plantains, which sounded weird, was sooooo good. The beef melted in our mouth. The dry run chicken wings were crisp and juicy!!
Every entree we order exceeded our expectations. Thank you!!

We ate here on our first night of our trip to Boone. This was a good experience. The food was good. I ordered the Fried Green Tomato BLT. My wife got the shrimp tacos and we got the cheese curds appetizer. The appetizer was more like a cheese tater tot. I was a big fan and so was my wife. The flavor was awesome, it was crispy and the sauce served with it was a good accompaniment. The BLT was a hit as a well. I love crispy bacon and I love fried green tomatoes. The meal comes with goat cheese but I subbed pimento cheese. There is not more to say, it was delicious. My side was the she crab soup.

I found this place to have decent food and great service. Our server, Emily, was really attentive and welcoming. We started with the cheese curds and then ordered the BLT with she crab soup and the shrimp tacos with brussel sprouts as the entrees. The appetizer was great and the entrees were just okay to me. I would come back to give this place another try but would order differently.

A buddy of mine and I came here from out of town for the first time and loved it!
The staff were professional and efficient, but super fun! They created a great atmosphere and were super attentive. Met some great folks sitting at the bar and loved the place. The food was also incredibly well done.
Would highly recommend whatever the kind of vibe you're looking for.
Big shout out to Kermit and squad for holding down the bar!

We stop at The Local everytime we come.to Boone. On a rainy, fall day like today, their American comfort food was just perfect. We sat on the back porch and watched the rain come and go, but we could just as easily have 'dined in' and been Covid comfortable with the way everything opened up. The service was excellent, though there seemed to be a hint of stress, the kind that is common these days when business is high but the workers are few.

I found what grits is like and taste of it. Sorry for everyone have known obviously. The shrimp sticked with various bread spices sauce was amazingly good! The one more extra spice to make the plate more fancy and better is eating and sharing same space with The Local(best friend) I thought in that moment!!

The food was excellent. We had the Margherita Flatbread as an appetizer and loved it. For dinner, the Chicken Quarters with mac 'n cheese was excellent. The Cucumber Basil Gimlet was also tasty. I would highly recommend this place. We went on a Monday night in July around 7:30 and there was a 45 minute wait so see if you can make a reservation.

My husbands Boone burger was the WINNER... it was delicious and I would totally recommend it! My BLT was ok... kinda bread heavy, if that makes sense. Between the two sides, we both prefers the seasoned shoestring fries over the sweet potato fries.
The big negative...my drink was not great. At all. It was a pear something-or-another ... that just tasted like vodka with a bit of lime. Not good.
