It's that time of year to enjoy all the incredible VSB Sweet Eats. All VSB Pies and Desserts are handcrafted entirely from scratch and baked on-site which is why pick up is exclusively at Vanilla Sugar Bakery. We are designating pickup times to help us alleviate crowds and for orders to be made as fresh as possible.
Vanilla Sugar Bakery creates memorable desserts that are never forgotten and always wanted. To help make the decision making process a little easier we have come up with an easy ordering process for some of our most popular Cake Designs and Custom Desserts. Cutoff day for orders are on Monday of each week.

This place is the real deal. We've been getting cupcakes/random treats for years and everything always blows away our expectations. Based on this my now husband and I knew we'd have to order our wedding cake from VSB. The cake was delicious, beautifully decorated and we got SO many compliments from our guests.

First, the cupcakes were absolutely delicious. We got a variety and loved every single one of them. Second, I failed to check what time they close on the day I scheduled for the pickup. When I called in a panic - 10 minutes after they had already technically closed - someone actually answered and said they would be there for a bit longer and that I could still come pick my order up. I rushed to the shop and they were super friendly, despite me probably being a total inconvenience. It was my daughterâs first bday party so this was a really special order, and Iâm just thankful they were so cool

Vanilla Sugar Bakery is absolutely wonderful. My husband and I had a small Covid wedding, and opted to get a basic cake and just use it as a wedding cake. They had it ready for us early, and it looked and tasted wonderful! Everyone loved it, and we will definitely be back to try more tasty treats when things get back to normal in the world.

I have been wanting to go to this bakery since I got pregnant last year. Because of their hours I was never able to get in after work. Finally made my way in a few weeks ago and VSB did NOT disappoint. I got a few cupcakes off the curbside menu- birthday cake explosion, salted caramel, chocolate pie, funfetti. I loved that the cupcakes were filled with goodies. I think my favorite had to be the salted caramel. But I tried them all and they were all so yummy! Each cupcake is little under $4 but they are baked to perfection so I do not mind paying that much! I cannot wait to go back!

I ordered a dozen cupcakes on the curbside pick up the menu for a wedding shower. I was worried about baking for guests during COVID and was able to ask that the cupcakes be individually boxed. They looked so cute and they were delicious! They really tasted homemade. and everyone was talking about them. The service was friendly. This will be my go-to from now on! I am craving the creme brulee cupcake right now!

My review is specifically for a birthday cake. We ordered a ombrĂŠ cake for a birthday and the cake was really pretty on the outside. The cake was a little dry but the issue was the amount of almond extract that was utilized in the frosting. We had to throw it out because the frosting was so awful. Our kids even refused to eat it. I sent an email to the owner with feedback a few days ago with no response. We tried to support this local business - especially during the pandemic and were sadly disappointed.

Absolutely blown away by my gorgeous surprise birthday cake!! I have never seen such a pretty cake before. The cake was originally supposed to have blue and purple accents but they customized the colors to be pink for me. My sister custom ordered an 6 inch round cake for me; wedding cake flavor with vanilla almond frosting. The cake served 7 people and we still had leftovers for later. The wedding cake was soft and good but the frosting is the only reason this cake isn't getting a full 5 stars from me. If I could give this bakery a rating based solely on presentation I would give it 5 stars. I was beyond happy with the decorations! It was beautiful and they altered the colors on the cake (changed from blue/purple to white/pink) per my request!
I ordered a Wedded Bliss (almond) 6in cake that serves 8-10 people and it was more than enough cake! You also get the donuts and cake filled cone on top The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the frosting had a very strong almond extract flavor. Vanilla Sugar Bakery made a birthday cake for me this weekend and it was extraordinary! I ordered the peanut butter chocolate cake and delicious doesn't even begin to describe it. The cake was so moist and the filling, decadent. The cake was decorated beautifully and received rave reviews. Ordering and pick-up during these Covid times was easy and efficient.

I emailed them regarding a cake for a baby shower two weeks in advance. After going back and forth via email I decided to call to clarify some of the questions I had. The woman on the phone was short and acted as if I was bothering her with questions. The final quote for a 12â cake with zero decoration (just writing on top) was $160. Thatâs outrageous. And on top of that, they could only guarantee the cake ready at 12pm on the day of the party, not 10:30am because the were âbookedâ that morning. I have been a loyal customer of VSB for 9 years. I started going to VSB at their old location in Winfield. I don't eat many sweets and am particular when I do, but I can't say enough about this lovely place. Every single item is made completely from scratch. I have ordered cakes now several times, Macaroons, Brownies, and Cupcakes are absolutely fantastic. When I tell my friends and family where the dessert is from - everyone is ridiculously anxious to skip dinner, and let's just go for the dessert.
Vanilla sugar is basically an hour from my home - I am most happy to go out of my way to purchase from Vanilla Sugar. It is by far one of the best bakeries that I know of. There are many where I live - but this one is "THE BEST' !!!!!!!

We stumbled upon Vanilla Sugar Bakery while walking home from lunch in downtown Glen Ellyn and indulged our sweet tooth with a mixed result.
My wife is a cupcake fanatic so she wasted no time at all choosing a couple cupcakes that caught her fancy. I'm more of a cookie guy so I went with a standard big M&M sugar cookie.
The woman staffing that day said she was one of the owners and was very friendly and happy to answer any questions we had.
Unable to wait, we consumed the treats immediately upon returning home and had mixed results. My wife exclaimed that the cupcakes were phenomenal

I brought The Cookie Monster, aka my girlfriend, to the bakery today since we are in town from Vegas and have heard so much about this place from our friends and family. They did not disappoint, my gf and I got several of the items just so we could take back and nibble on throughout our trip.

They have a variety of novel flavors of cupcakes: wedding bliss, strawberry cheesecake, raspberry lemon ginger etc. the icing is made of real cream cheese. Yummm. they are all beautifully made with cute color and frostings. As tasty as molly's cupcakes:)

My wife loves cupcakes. That's an easy excuse for me to say that we should stop at a bakery and check out their cupcakes. It's not like I'm not going to have a cupcake or 3 myself!
So we happen to notice Vanilla Sugar Bakery as we were leaving Gnarly Knots. They are only about a block away. Knowing that we were going to celebrate our nephews birthday, we picked up 6 cupcakes and this oatmeal peanut butter sandwich cookie to take with us. We were at the bakery in the early afternoon and they had a decent supply of cupcakes as it seemed that there were more cupcakes and treats earlier

Holy cow. Sugary goodness! I love macarons, and this place hit the spot! Their salted caramel macarons are to DIE for!
I also got a cookie bar and split it in half for my friends' two kids. It's huge, looks delicious, and I'm a bit disappointed now that I didn't just get one for myself too!
