A preventive program is a cooperative effort by the patient, dentist, and dental staff to preserve the natural dentition and supporting structures by preventing the onset, progress, and recurrence of dental diseases and conditions. Preventing dental disease starts at home with good oral hygiene and a balanced diet.
A comprehensive dental exam will be performed by your dentist at your initial dental visit. Examination of diagnostic x-rays (radiographs): Essential for detection of decay, tumors, cysts, and bone loss. X-rays also help determine tooth and root positions. Oral cancer screening: Check the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.
Dental radiographs (x-rays) are essential, preventative, diagnostic tools that provide valuable information not visible during a regular dental exam. I've been going to East Center Family Dentistry for longer than I can remember. I actually enjoy my appointments with them. They are very friendly and relaxed. The dental care is highly professional. The dental work when needed is cutting edge and artistic. I have next to no dental anxiety before and during the visit. That is due to knowing just how good they are at what they do.

They've been my dentists for over two decades and I am very happy to offer them a great review. All of the staff --- office, hygienists, assistants, and dentists --- are wonderful. I've had cleanings, fillings, and crowns over the years. They are extremely professional and I've had only good experiences. They are a great practice!

Absolutely fantastic. After confessing to my extreme dental anxiety, receptionist Jane suggested an early morning appt. She pointed out that I wouldn’t be stressing about the appt all day and that I would be less likely to talk myself out of going. Smart! And it worked. I did show up for my appt. What’s more, no need to spend extra time in the office, all new patient forms are available on their website.
When I was finally in the chair, I let Lisa know about my high anxiety. She insisted I would be just fine but... what else could she have said..? My apprehension started to ease as the work

I have been going here for over 25 years and am very please with the work I have had done. The staff is friendly and professional. The Cerec machine that makes crowns in one visit is amazing. No more waiting for weeks. I love the high quality work from the doctors at this office. I would definitely recommend.

I am fairly new to this office and i have been happy with every visit with them. I have been to other dentists and this office beats all the others. i have been happy with every visit. they really care about you and make sure you are happy. Everyone in the office is very friendly. At least one of the doctors gives you novocaine shots with out topical anesthetic and you don't feel it and if you do feel anything its like pricking your finger with a pin. i am very happy with the patient who recommended me to go to this office. The staff was so courteous and wonderful and made me feel so welcome, I was a bit nervous because I had to replace a front tooth crown-the most challenging- and it was my first time in a new dentist office. I am from Vermont and I heard this was the best place in CT so I drove 3.5 hours and I am so glad I did!! My tooth completes my smile and I get compliments all the time. Dr. Jon and his assistant, Lisa are top notch and really work as a team! Over all, great experience and I highly recommend! Thank you so much!!!

As a dental phobic person, changing dentists can be a bit scary! I took my friend’s recommendation to try the dentist she’s very happy with. That was Dr. Jon Stephens. I’ve had a few procedures with Dr. Stephens and have found him and his assistant (I’m sorry I’ve forgotten her name!) to be very kind, very patient, professional as well as skilled. I felt as at-ease as I could in a dentist chair 😊
