The credit union movement in the United States dates to 1909 and is driven by a philosophy of people working together to solve their credit problems and to improve their financial status. Credit Unions began with volunteers organizing and operating the union in order to pool the savings of members in order to provide credit at a more reasonable rate.
Anyone who lives, works, or worships in Sweetwater County is welcome to join Sweetwater Federal Credit Union. Opening an account is quick and easy! A Regular Shares Account is all that is required to become a member. Once you are a member, we have a variety of services and products available to you.
A $5.00 deposit into a savings account entitles you to the benefits of membership in Sweetwater Federal Credit Union. Once the savings account is opened, all others services are available to you. Dividends accrue daily and are paid monthly. When a savings account has reached $2500.01, a higher dividend is paid.
Being a member of Sweetwater FCU has its advantages, including a variety of convenient services and benefits. We offer VISA debit and credit cards, so accessing your money is only a swipe away and shopping online is quick and easy. In addition to having excellent loan rates, we also offer a variety of loan protections services to our members.
We have multiple notaries on staff to ensure this service is always available to our members during lobby hours. This service is offered free to our members. We have a night depository available for members to make deposit during non-business hours. Deposits received via night drop are processed by 8am the following business day.
