I sold my studio in early 2021 after owning it for almost twenty years. It seemed like the right time to give up the brick-and-mortar location. The pandemic of 2020 taught me that I can thrive without a studio and I am not defined by four walls.
I re-branded my photography business and am going back to my roots of photographing on location and have changed the business model from the Lightscapes Portrait Studio to Lightscapes Photography, Art for the Heart.The year 2020 taught me not to take things for granted anymore and the most important things in life are family, friends, and community.

As more and more people are working from home, I am finding the weekdays work the best for most clients. I am happy to chat with you about working out the best time for your family or headshot session. I prefer to sell art to clients so they see the value in showcasing and preserving their lives or their families' lives with high-quality prints, albums, and wall art.

Mary took our family photos and we absolutely loved them! She captured our family beautifully, and she was so easy and fun to work with. Mary also took some photos of us with our dog, and got him to look at the camera (which never happens)! Couldn't recommend Mary more!

When working with Mary I felt like I was working with an artist. Mary is very relaxing to work with and has an intuitive sense of color and composition. Most important, Mary captured the authentic "me" on film. My husband and I are partners and in addition to doing a great job on his headshot, we now have a unique photograph that really stands out in a crowd! I'm already looking for other opportunities to use her talents!

Mary completely blew me away with the amazing photos she took of my daughter and I. She was able to capture my daughter at this age as well as our relationship and bond. Mary was so easy to work with and very professional and knowledgeable about how to get a perfect shot! I would highly recommend Mary for photos!

I had no idea how it was going to turn out with all the humidity and my hair but Mary made my headshot look like I was a model! Her place of work was very calming and I felt very comfortable working with her. She had good suggestions on what clothes to wear and then the whole process was quick and professional. She is obviously a very knowledgeable photographer and worked wonders with me. I would suggest her to anyone looking for a professional photographer!

Mary Buck is not just a photographer - she is a true artist! I love the digital copies of my headshots. She is a consummate professional. But what really sets her apart is her customer service. When I arrived at her studio, I felt at home. The decorations and examples of her work on the walls made me feel like I was in my own living room. This was by far one of the greatest experiences I'be ever had! Mary was so sweet and welcoming. She made me feel so comfortable. The photo shoot was so much fun!! Mary's calm and easy going nature put me at ease with being photographed, which is something I usually don't enjoy. Like many women, I don't find myself to be very photogenic yet Mary captured images of me that even I found stunning. What's more, through her editing skills, she was able to remove a slight wardrobe issue to the point of flawlessness.

I had a great experience with the class I took at Lightscapes. Mary was very good and gave a lot of detail. The class size was perfect and there were plenty of things around the building to practice taking photos of, and Mary was willing to pose and even had her assistant jump in the air so we could practice anti-blur. I really learned a lot about how to use my new camera and would recommend Mary and Lightscapes Photography to others.

I have known Mary for over 8 years! We first met because our kids did activities together. Then she started photographing my children and my family. I quickly fell in love with her art of photography. She can capture such precious memories so beautifully! I then received a DSLR as a gift and realized that I had no idea what all the buttons and settings could do for me. I took Mary's beginners photography class and it was wonderful. She breaks it all down and explains how all the buttons and settings work together. Made take photos seems so much easier! I have not had the opportunity to take her

I've had my expensive DSLR camera for a couple of years without ever really getting to know it or how to use it to take the photos I desired. My daughter and I took Mary's beginners class together and found it to be so helpful as a great place to start! She quickly reviewed some basics and spent a great deal of time with us helping us to use the camera's features and compare results with different settings. I'm a much more confident photographer now.
While in her studio, I also viewed some of her photography work. Beautiful and amazing!
