Registered nurses, regardless of specialty or work setting, treat and educate residents and the public about various medical conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to residents; family members. RNs record resident's medical history and symptoms, help perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, operate medical machinery, administer treatment and medications, and help with cases follow up and rehabilitation.
The LPN generally works as a charge nurse and works under the Director of Nursing of the facility they are providing services to. Licensed Practical Nurses participate in the multi-disciplinary process of providing care and treatment to patients and provides clinical support to the residents that are in the care of the nurse.
The Certified Medication Aide role is to assist the licensed nurse (LPN/RN) in providing safe, and ethical care for the residents-that is, administering prescribed drugs and completing other delegated nursing tasks allowed by the state law. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
