Flashes of Life Photography was essentially born out of an experience I had while learning photography in college. I had just gotten back from a photography conference where the emphasis was more on who the person is, rather than straight fashion photography or pretty portraiture. A week later, I photographed a 10-year old girl in a studio setting for a college project, when destiny occurred.

Rachel was absolutely amazing! My daughter is pretty camera shy but she was able to get her out of her shell and have a blast taking pictures. Not to mention they looked amazing. The prints and books turned out better than we could have hoped for as well! We will never let any one else take our pictures. Definitely clients for life.

Rachel is not only an amazing photographer, but an amazing person as well. She has a gift for capturing your child and you will be left with so many pictures that it is difficult to choose which ones to purchase! She has taken senior pictures for two of my children and I look forward to her taking pictures of my last child when it is his senior year.

My daughter graduated in 2021 and Flashes of Life Photography took her senior pictures. We couldn't love them more! Rachel has a talent for getting to know her clients quickly and she captured my daughter's personality in many different settings throughout Clarkston. We adored the photos so much that we didn't hesitate to book an appointment for our other daughter, a member of the Class of 2022, this year. Again, Rachel did not disappoint. The photos reflect my daughter in a genuine way with various photos taken around the village of Holly. I continue to be amazed at how Flashes of Life captured

Rachel is iconic! She is super nice and cares about the final quality of the photos. We went to Flashes of Life to get photos for my senior year of high school, and she came up with lots of good places to take them in downtown Clarkston. Rachel is amazing! I called her for my 2019 & 2020 graduates. They are completely different children with opposite end interests. Rachel consulted with each and found the perfect spots/background for my artsy/urban girl as well as my sporty/nature girl. The photos were so completely different, but equally beautiful, no-- breathtaking. I can't say enough about this experience! Thank you, Rachel.

My daughter had her senior pictures done by Rachel and we couldn’t be more pleased. Rachel made the photoshoot very special. She knew how to relax my daughter and could always get a laugh out of her. Rachel is very good at connecting with people.
When we committed to going with Rachel she prepared us for the day so we’ll, from location, makeup, outfits, and hair. The whole event was wonderful.
