Services
In accordance with The Military Bounty Land Act of 1855, President Abraham Lincoln assigned the land that The Grand Central sits on to Mr. Martin Merrick. The land sold many times before M.M. Young purchased it in 1881. Thus, The Grand Central Hotel opened in 1884. Always a hotel, it became the Central House.
Clover Clif A view of our famous Chase County Courthouse and history, from this corner room with two queen beds, make this room to remember. Crocker Ranch Peaceful tones compliment a 12' ceiling with fan, two queen beds, and a paver-bricked patio for private dining. Mercer Ranch This large, comfortable room has two queen beds and overlooks our beautiful courtyard and the City of Cottonwood Falls.
The Z Bar Cattle Company bought a ranch in Barber County with herd of cattle already branded with the Z- brand. This cattle company then came to Chase County in the 1920's where the brand was finally registered in 1935. This king-size bedded room has a sitting area complimented by the original brick walls and an unmatched view of our quaint courtyard.
Mr. Miser was a well known rancher from Chase County and contributed greatly to the brands accumulated in The Grand Central Hotel. Our honeymoon room is a superior corner room rich in colors highlighting sophisticated furnishings. Complete with fireplace and a king-sized bed. All guaranteed reservations must be secured with a valid credit card: (Mastercard, Visa or Discover).

My wife and I visited Cottonwood Falls yesterday, October 25, 2021.
We made reservations at the Grand Hotel Grill for 5:00pm but arrived early at 4:30pm. The owner seemed irritated and said her cook would not arrive until 5:00pm. She did invite us to sit at a table and order a drink. The waitress then took our orders but she was not customer friendly! Food was good. Service was not. We will not be returning!

The location was really cool. You can see the historic courthouse at the end of the street. It's quiet and idyllic. The hotel is not big but it is very nice, wouldn't mind to stay a weekend to get away from the city. The burger was good but the sweet potato fries were awesome. There were no screaming children, no loud obnoxious music AND alfresco dining. Had a great time, folks are friendly and relaxed.

This review is for the restaurant. The steaks here are AMAZING! Seriously, on our 2021 road trip across the US, we were so surprised to find these absolutely outstanding steaks in this small town. They are better than the steaks you get at expensive restaurants in big cities. The sides/drinks also good, but the reason to come to this restaurant is for the extremely high-quality meat. Wow!

This was a tremendous surprise! It was open, we stopped in for a bite, menu said they had steak stew! How many times does a place have stew? Had some with a salad. Oh my gosh, fantastic!! Definitely, have the steak stew, but the salad was delicious too. I had dill and poppy seed dressing - loved it! Beautiful renovation of the building. Great service. Only request is that they need to serve a roll with the stew...so you don't have to use you finger to scrape out the bowl, like we wanted to do! 😊. Well worth the ride to get there!

We were stunned by the prices of the meals on Sunday Mother’s Day. My meal was 35.00 for not much. The food was decent, but for the price, ridiculous. The wait staff was nice enough (not that great), but the owner, what an absolute grump. We tried to be friendly and nice, complimented her on the restaurant, and she practically growled back her responses. Not nice AT ALL! Not going back. No more bringing family there. The town itself is cool, but being nice to people is pretty important! And so is a sense of getting your money’s worth. Big thumbs down!
