This is not just a campground, it is our home in the woods that we want to share with you. Privacy Campground is built against Brodie Mountain in the beautiful, rolling landscape of Massachusetts's northern Berkshires. Located south of Williamstown, the campground is within easy reach of hiking, boating, and numerous arts activities (museums, theatre, music, dance, historical attractions).

Fully designed, built (in 1973), and owned by its original proprietor, Privacy Campground is all about family. It has nurtured a full generation of campers, who continue to return with their own families and friends. From the children's playground to the well-constructed shower rooms, from the walking trails to the sauna, Privacy Campground creates experiences that draw families together in fun and a shared sense of caretaking.
Services
Privacy Campground offers a wide variety of 35 private tent site, cabins, and RV hookups (vans and tent-trailers only, please). Privacy is also the first green Campground in the Country. Since 1994, 100% of all the power comes from a hydroelectric power plant; there is also a wind generator, solar panels and a gravity water system.
Privacy Campground has been a family favorite for decades. It is beautiful, quiet, relaxing-everything you want in an amazing camping spot. But, the best part is the years of stories the owner Andre can tell! Not to be missed. We took our children to Privacy Campground for years. Whenever we proposed any other vacation-a trip to Yosemite, say-they screamed and hollered.

Was raining so difficult to camp. Facilities were adequate but showers needed updating and better instructions on operation

Consider this trip a time travel, a 70’s throwback, a DIY reality show, everything but your life in the city. If you like to fix things in your garage, or if you like nature, and you don’t mind handcrafted old things that still work, this is a must see. If you bring kids along, they would spend quality time with you because there is no phone signal or WiFi. This is a unique place, and it is impossible to compare it with any popular campground. The guardian of this mountain and campground is a Korean War veteran, an incorruptible soul.

Place was great! Owners were friendly and accommodating. Just be aware it's cash only, we were a few dollars short and they let us set up our site before heading out into town.
Definitely coming back!

I grew up 20 miles from Privacy Campground and didn’t know about it. 30 years later I’m so pleased that I’ve happened upon this spot. Serious Nature, nice folks & a creative vibe.

I had a great time at the campground. It's doesn't have tons of campsites(a good thing). It's more of a place to enjoy the nature and the quiet (if the Bad Neighbors are not making tons of noise from drinking to much for a few hours). This place does not draw the drinking crowd. It is great for families and groups of quiet friends. The owner and caretaker are extremely friendly. The caretaker helped us light a fire the first night there. The property is Off the Grid and if you're lucky you may get a tour of their hydropower facility. The place is very well kept and the little cabins are very cute

This place is a gem! Very quiet--no dogs, no RVs. Many campsites do have electricity. We stayed in a cabin for $25 a night! It was peaceful and easy, and we enjoyed talking with host Andre. All renewable resources for the electric power, many odd and interesting gadgets around the place, and hundreds of acres of woods and trails.

Privacy Campground is truly a unique gem in the Berkshires. Nestled on the lower western slope of Brodie Mountain in Hancock, MA, it offers a rewarding camping experience for families with or without children, groups, or couples just wanting a getaway. Sites are isolated by trees, thus the appropriateness of "Privacy." Campground founder Andre Rambaud is an absolute genius in his ability to meld his creative & engineering skills into the natural landscape. Among other things, he's carved hiking trails on the mountainside, including to the top. We camped every summer with our boys for decades, never

This is such a great place to go camping. I have been to a lot of these campsites with tons of amenities like pools and was not fascinated by them. Privacy campgrounds is nice and quiet except for what you expect to hear in the woods. It is not over crowed like most places this time of year because they don't allow rvs, only tents. The owner and Dennis are great people. If you need any help just ask and they will help you. I managed to kill my battery on my car and at 7:00 in the morning Dennis was there helping me. No need to buy bags of wood that burn in 1 hour for $7 a piece because they encourage
