Enjoy your stay in the historic 1890s with all the comforts of the 21st century. Relax in the quiet country atmosphere. Catch a glimpse of a starlight sky, wild turkeys, deer, and fireflies across the pasture in the summer. Owner Martin Rude, had a long-held love of old castles and barns which inspired he and his wife, Cheryl, to start the Barns @ Timber Creek venture.
Castles in Kansas seemed a stretch but barns were a definite possibility. They found 35 acres with a stone barn just north of Winfield and began the journey. A second barn built with beams and hickory pegs in Oxford (11 miles east of Winfield) was found and donated on the condition that it would be taken down piece by piece and moved!

My husband and I were gifted a stay at The Barns at Timer Creek. Upon our arrival we were met by Julia, the manager, who had selected a perfect room for us. We stayed in the Balcony/Birdhouse suite and enjoyed sitting out on the balcony and star gazing. The next morning we were treated to a delicious/gourmet breakfast that included; Egg soufflé', sausages, blueberry muffins, and a yogurt parfait plus juice and coffee.
The highlight was getting to visit with Cheryl and Martin, the owners of the amazing property, and learning about its' history.
Afterwards we enjoyed walking around and checking

Breakfast was DELICIOUS! I had a peach tart made from scratch with scrambled eggs, tasty sausage links, a hot cup off coffee. Breakfast was topped off with a delightful and thoughtful conversation with owners, Martin and Cheryl. They’ve attended to every detail of decor and walking the grounds will bring peace to any restless or weary soul.

This place is great. Friendly people, quiet and peaceful, comfortable and cozy. Wife and I stayed in the Treehouse and had a wonderful experience. Breakfast was brought to our room in a basket at the time of our choosing, and they made sure to ask if we had any special requests in preparing our food. There was about a quarter mile path around the property that went through a relatively new vineyard. All in all, we had a wonderful time and will be visiting again!

We stayed in the treehouse and thought it was pretty cool! It's just fine for two adults, it's in its own quiet place on the property, the manager is great at texting if you have any questions, and the breakfast was great.
We also appreciated that they turned the AC on before we arrived. It was quite hot that day and it was a nice thing to walk into.
Some things we should mention: Wi-Fi was a bit too weak to get a consistent connection, we ran into a dog that spooked us at first but he was friendly when we asked about his ball, the main living area has pretty dim lighting that could be an issue

Very beautiful place. My wife and I were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves and it was very peaceful. The main floor was decorated for Christmas and was gorgeous. The owners are very friendly and Leo,the dog, was a blast to play fetch with. The themed rooms are elegant and very interesting, especially the rooms with lofts. We plan on spending more nights here in different rooms.
