Building Sciences 16:3 abides by the state of North Carolina's Standards of Practice (SOP) and Code of Ethics during all of our inspection services. The Buyer's Inspection is a non-invasive and thorough visual inspection of a residential building. During the inspection, we will take note of the condition of the property in relation to its age and find any damage or defects with the home's visible and safely accessible systems and components.
We perform both structural and environmental inspections to include: general building and structural inspections; septic, well, and termite inspections; and mold and radon testing. We also perform specialty inspections for things like foundation certifications, docks, and pools. We offer inspection reviews at the end of the general building inspection.
In order for your inspection to go as smoothly as possible, please have these items available:. We are able to perform all three of the below- listed scopes and recommend you review all three to determine which is best for your needs. The standard Scope B will be performed unless otherwise requested before the inspection.
Radon is a cancer-causing radioactive gas. You cannot see, smell or taste radon, but it may be a problem in your home. The Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today. If you smoke and your home has high radon levels, you're at high risk for developing lung cancer.

Mark does an amazing job! He is a great resource to know, and has more experience than a dozen of the average inspectors. We are happy to recommend him to our Real Estate clients!
