Harborside Marine at The Boat Place is a full-service boat yard located on the water in historic Port Jefferson, New York. We've been serving Port Jefferson and the surrounding communities since 1905. Our 25-ton Marine Travelift is the only boat hoist in Port Jefferson Harbor, and allows us to haul power and sail boats up to 50' in length.
We provide a full range of marine repairs and maintenance services, summer and winter boat storage, and a Dry Land Marina (hi-and-dry) service for trailerable powerboats up to 26' in length. Our newly-renovated Ship's Store and Parts Department stocks several common marine items, and we also carry a full line of marine parts and accessories for quick delivery.

Services
First settled in the late 17th century, and formerly known as Drowned Meadow, Port Jefferson Harbor has a long maritime tradition. One of the finest deep water harbors on Long Island's north shore, various shipbuilding facilities and boat yards occupied our shoreline for over a century. Over 500 ships were built in Port Jefferson, by shipyards with familiar names like Bayles, Darling, Hawkins, Mather & Wood, and more.
These charges are additional and mandatory in order to obtain the "Best Rate" for winter storage. NOTE: Most boats not stored on trailers or cradles will be required to own jack stands. Sailboats generally require 5-7 stands (4-6 stands on the sides and a v-stand in the bow), and powerboats generally require 4 stands (2 motorboat stands for the stern and 2 sailboat stands for the bow).
Our boat yard is located in a sheltered corner of Port Jefferson Harbor, and can provide hauling, launching, and storage for power and sailboats up to 50' in length. Most sailboats are stored with the mast up to eliminate the additional cost and risk of unstepping and stepping the mast. However, we have the capability to unstep and step masts if desired.
Since 1962, The Boat Place has operated a unique system for the storage of trailer boats up to 26 feet in length -- it's like valet parking for your boat. It was the first of its kind in the Northeast, and set the standard for Hi & Dry marinas all over. You will double your enjoyment from boating by investing in the most cost effective and convenient system of trailerable boat storage, launching and retrieval available.
Our 25-Ton Marine Travelift can lift boats up to 50' in length. Whether you need a short haul for a survey or you need to come out for an extended time for repairs and maintenance, our open-end lift can accommodate sailboats (with the mast up) and powerboats of all shapes and sizes.
We also regularly load and unload boats from transporter trailers for over-the-road travel, and can prepare and shrinkwrap your boat to protect it on long-distance journeys.
