Services
Steve is internationally recognized as a master of Damascus Steel and Mokume Gane. His fascination with these techniques spans four decades, and he has specialized in patterned metal jewelry since 1989. A JCK Rising Star Designer, Niche Award and two time American Vision Award winner, Steve has led workshops on Mokume Gane and lectured about his work and research throughout the US, and around the world.
Damascus Steel is the popular name given to a layered metals technique that was used by ancient metalsmiths for armor, weaponry, and decorative items. It is a storied material and famous for its incredible strength and beauty. From the Vikings to the Japanese, blacksmiths around the world developed their own traditions for creating this work which exploited steel's unique ability to be forge welded at high temperatures, with a hammer and anvil.
We have always been craftsmen working with our hands and hearts to create works of great depth and beauty, and always will be, but there's no way around it, technology is a huge part of our process. It allows us to do things that could not even be imagined by the ancient metalsmiths who first developed Damascus Steel and Mokume Gane.
We don't stock any of our rings. Each Mokume and Damascus ring is made to order, but we don't have listings for every customization that is possible. My husband and I are so so thankful for Steven and the BEAUTIFUL ring he made! We got the Mokume Wedding Band Domed in Titanium & Black Zirconium with a Tantalum Liner | DARK BURL. It is unique, cost efficient, and a perfect fit. The handwritten notes are just an additional touch that makes this experience even more special! We highly recommend them to anyone who is interested!

Just wow. I'm an Aussie, and I couldn't find anything that came close to this in the world as far as the photo is concerned. No one in Australia knew anything about the Titanium and Zirconium Mokume process, so I too a chance and ordered it. And to my everlasting happiness, it looked even better in person. It's truly a sight to behold. Sometimes I just stare at it. Thanks Guys!

My husband and I are so happy with the ring we ordered for him (damascus steel wedding ring realistic woodgrain domed). We were both very particular about what we wanted. He wanted more than a simple band but didn't want the mass manufactured repetitive pattern or some of the more feminine floral engravings. In general, he likes organic things/patterns like inlaid wood furniture pieces. I liked the look of the 6mm domed shape on his finger after him trying many rings on in stores (chain and small businesses). It took us a few months before we found Steven Jacob. When i first decided to order one of these rings online, i was concerned about the pattern i would receive; as every one is unique. But decided to take the chance as i couldn't find anything similar anywhere else. True to the pictures, the ring came beautifully made. Patterns in my ring were similar to pictures posted online, but not the same. It had the same characteristics that i loved from the pictures, but with slight differences that made it unique.

The men's wedding band we purchased is absolutely beautiful! It's just as pictured. The detailing of the wood grain is gorgeous. The ring shipped in the exact time that was estimated. I was worried about ordering a custom ring as far as the sizing goes but it was spot on, fits perfect. My fiance loves the weight of the ring, not too light not too heavy...just right. We are very pleased!!!!
