Services
Straight line tie PV system without batteries that "spins your meter backward" when the sun shines to cancel out the power that you use any time. This is the least expensive system. At the end of the year, the utility company will charge you for what you use less the power sent back from solar generation.
We couple ultra efficient solar panels with state of the art inverter technology to capture power from the sun. Cutting edge lithium-ion batteries store energy for when you need it, and last many years longer than antiquated lead-acid batteries. Industry-leading monitoring software means you can see what your system is doing 24/7 from anywhere in the world.
Solar power is an excellent alternative to relying on noisy and costly gas-powered generators. Operating costs of generators are typically 4x greater than operating costs of electricity generated from solar panels. Six Rivers Solar also features our own Humboldt-manufactured synthetic fuel gasifier that uses waste wood chips to fuel a standard generator to make your own bio-char for your soil.
As power disruptions become more frequent, there is a growing desire for solar electric systems that provide power during utility power outages. For the safety of line workers, grid-tied solar electric systems must not feed power back into the utility lines during an outage. Battery-less inverters simply shut down when the power goes out.
A solar energy system creates usable power from sunshine. There are two basic kinds of systems: Photovoltaic or PV uses sunlight to generate electricity. It's the same technology found on pocket calculators, just on a larger scale. PV systems can be designed to generate the majority of the electricity used in your home, or just a portion of it.

In 2018 we decided to install solar for our house. We contacted 5 different companies for estimates. Of all 5, Six Rivers were the worst. Their salesman who came out was very annoying, reminding me of a used car salesman. He didn't even get up on the roof to look at any installation issues or even measure the angle of the roof.
I had previously gone to their office to inquire about sunrooms and was really uninpressed with them, but figured I'd give them a chance on the solar.
We ended up with Green Wired and not only were they the cheapest bid, they came highly recommended by friends

Six-Rivers Solar DOES NOT DO SOLAR! They only forcefully write contracts to take your money, and then contract out the work to the cheapest and worst installations I have ever seen, because I have 30-years experience of being a commercial electrician in the SF Bay Area and the contractors around here have no clue how to install this stuff...
This is the reason most people that have gotten a system from them are not happy at all with what they eneded up with, I've asked them...
All the 5-star ratings seen here seem to be fake news, this company has a poor rating if you dig deeper...

I’d been considering going solar but it took someone (Laura?) canvassing my neighborhood to motivate me into action. Miguel came to my home and patiently yet inspirationally explained the options available to me. It was not a hard sell. I had to contemplate all aspects of this with time and careful consideration; Six Rivers Solar even made me aware of a finance company who could offer me agreeable and competitive terms. Megan in the office provided patient support during this process. I made the commitment and am glad to have done so; the timing of the beginning of the work was a small miracle

They handled the application, setting up finance, installation, worked around our schedule as foster parents, and were available anytime we had a inkling of a question.
Miguel and Megan were two of the nicest and sweetest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and made the the whole experience not only possible- but enjoyable.
I recommend them to anyone that uses electricity/owns their home/wants to do efficiency renovations on your property.
These people will not let you down.

I was working with a wholesale distributor, and got a bid for them to provide a complete system. But they did not give any assistance with the permit application, or provide any training or on-site consulting.
Six Rivers matched their price, provided an even better system for the money, and then Gage prepared the permit application for no charge. The permit was promptly issued, and then Dan Johnson came out and helped us start the process of installing the array. Dan came out repeatedly over the next several weeks as we put the thing together, and was here when we turned it on, and interfaced

Unfriendly and uninformative service. Purchased 2 batteries for 1000 for a friend. They told me they were the correct batteries. Come to find out they were the wrong batteries. Tried to return them and I had to wait three days for the owner to write me a refund check after I paid in cash. Was treated poorly with little respect
