Located in the midst of the Trinity Alps, in the historic downtown district of the old gold rush town of Weaverville, California. There is not a single traffic light in the entire county. The Weaverville Hotel and Emporium has within a two block radius, a gym (guests have gym privileges), 2 coffee houses, several good restaurants, a local brewery, an ice cream shop, a 1939 movie theatre, several art galleries, the historic Chinese Joss House, and the Jake Jackson Museum and Blacksmith.
There are several interesting shops as well, including our own Emporium featuring fine chocolates, sterling silver jewelry, European and American soaps and lotions, and a great selection of women's clothing and other great gift ideas for every pocketbook. The hotel, originally built in 1861, was last rebuilt in 1880 after burning to the ground.

Services
Originally built in 1861 at the beginning of the Civil War and at the height of Gold Rush, the Weaverville Hotel was then called Condon's Saloon (with rooms in back?) Rebuilt as a hotel after a fire in 1863, it was named the Empire Hotel. It last burned to the ground in 1880. A fire gutted the second floor in 1910 and ownership changed again in 1914.
Named after Trinity County gold mines, all the rooms have private showers, air conditioners, heaters, ceiling fans, hair dryers, and coffee makers. A microwave and a refrigerator with a limited amount of ice are available in the store-room across from Room 2. A telephone is available for our guests in the telephone booth at the top of the stairs.
Go shopping and antiquing- Two great antique shops in town, and plenty of other fun shopping including our Emporium, Tammie's (new-and-used) Books, Gold Rush Jewelers, Angela's Bead Art, Mountain Market, Imaginations, and Olson's Stoneware all within 2 blocks of the hotel. Go whitewater rafting, kayaking or tubing, all available down river just a short drive during warmer months.
From Redding, take State Highway 299 north and west about 45 beautiful miles across Buckhorn Summit, with gorgeous views of Whiskeytown Lake and the mountains. The historic district is on the opposite end of town. The Weaverville Hotel is just next to the Band Stand and Courthouse on the right hand side.

I love staying here. A real treat! The rooms are beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Each room has a nice selection of books to read. There is a library downstairs with a nice lounge to relax. The morning coffee and locally made cookies are delicious and fresh. The homemade chocolate left on your bedside is so good. Wonderfully charming get away!

Beautiful, old fashioned room very large. The bed was Awesome! Clean had a shower and claw tub. Huge window facing the street. Room no. 1. Hospitality was Great. I met Sara when I checked in. Sweetheart of a person. I was on a layover from work. She took me to get dinner for the night and brought me back. Definitely small town manners, it’s what I’m used to. Thank you, Sara. Hope I got your name right? Jean was beyond nice! True and Genuine. I met jessie the dog. Jean gave me a truffle, I had wish I’d of used my ten bucks they give you to spend towards a meal in town

I drove from Sacramento to Eureka today coming through Weaverville JUST to be able to visit this "Emporium" What a disappointment. I expected authentic gold rush gifts or even antique items. This store is full of trinket stuff you can get from Amazon. :( The sitting parlor was nice.. authentic pieces to enjoy - loved the view finders.

Love love love this place. You can find unique gift items, and they will wrap it up in a pretty package for you. I haven't had the pleasure of staying in the beautifully appointed rooms of the historic hotel, but I hope to some day. Ask for a tour, and keep your 👀 and👂open for contact from the hotels oldest residents. 😉👻

It was an absolute pleasure getting to visit and stay here. The entire ambience is oriented towards an 1800's esque feel to it.
The lounge down below the rooms is set up to enjoy any music or reading all within the same old Victorian feel to the room.
The owners warmly greet you and give you a nice tour throughout the hotel, lounge, shop and finally your room.
The room set up was very welcoming. Nothing in the room breaks the vision of being transported back in time to being treated as an honored guest in a luxurious Victorian styled inn.
They have a nice outdoor sitting area out back, lined
