When Jack Rhoads returned to Boise after serving in the navy during World War II, he used his experience sewing parachutes to begin the business he eventually named Boise Car Upholstery. Jack "retired" 1982 and sold the business to Terry Botkin, but he continued to work there part-time for several years.

Reviews say they do great work. I wish i knew if they did or not. Dropped off some door panels to be reupholstered before I went overseas for a few months, which is good because they are several months out on work. I"d hoped to pick up the panels after the military trip. While gone I called them, left voice messages and emails, practically begged them to return messages and nothing. They do not communicate at all. Terrible way to run a business.

Terry procured and installed a carpet kit on my '74 Scout. The carpet kit had a piece that shipped which was not square and thus wouldn't set onto the intended location w/ out being obviously misaligned. He took the liberty of making up a replacement piece - bound, backed and everything to make sure we had the correct fit. Terry was extremely professional, gave accurate lead times and great communication thru the entire order and install. Would highly recommend using him for any related upholstery needs.

5 stars for Terry and his way of doing business. I have a 10 year old Ford truck, which is mechanically perfect, but the leather driver's side seat was losing support and the heater burned out. I called the dealer, and it was $500 just to fix the heater. After wasting a couple years with seat covers that wouldn't stay on, I finally called this business, stopped by and saw Terry, and he fixed the seat heater, installed new cushion and support, and replaced the leather panel for less than what the dealer quoted for the heater. I have a new truck! Well, it feels like one, because the seat is like
