GEC provides consulting in three key areas: Geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, and construction quality control testing. The firm began in 1991 as Geosciences, Inc.

GEC is a member of the Georgia Brownfield Association and an avid advocate for the Georgia Brownfield Program. As such, GEC works closely with developers and the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, Brownfield Division Project Managers to responsibly clean up, develop, and reuse properties where contamination is known or suspected to be present.
GEC performs a variety of construction-related services, including QA/QC testing, materials testing, and NPDES construction site stormwater services. GEC has the only middle Georgia laboratory that meets the stringent requirements of ASTM E329 (Standard Specification for Agencies Engaged in the Testing and/or Inspection of Materials Used in Construction).
In August of 2003, the Environmental Protection Division passed the revised General Permit for Stormwater Discharges from Construction Sites (GAR 100001, GAR 100002, GAR 100003). GEC has been an industry leader in the performance of these services. We can provide many levels of service, from project consulting to stormwater monitoring, sampling and inspections.
