Hurst Manufacturing began as Rock Island Packaging Corporation (RIPCO) in 1965. Founder, William Hurst began the company to sub-contract packaging and advertising displays. His vision was to create high quality, reasonably priced products that were delivered on time. RIPCO thrived in the 60s and early 70s, allowing the company to purchase land in Milan, Illinois, and build a 28,500 square foot facility on four acres.
