Michael W. Rushing began his career as a deckhand nearly five decades ago, and has continued to work in the marine industry ever since. He began his own towing company, Rushing Marine Corp., with his father, C.W. "Woody" Rushing in 1979, and in 1995 he started Rushing Marine Service, L.L.C. He is currently a TVIB-Certified AWO Responsible Carrier Program Lead Auditor and TVIB-Certified Subchapter M Lead Auditor.
The combination of due dates for audits, surveys and internal structural exams for each vessel means complying with Subchapter M can be a confusing and time-consuming project when you are already busy keeping America's cargoes moving. Rushing Marine's network of qualified Auditors and Surveyors located strategically throughout the inland river system is here to help keep you in compliance so you can focus on your business.
U.S. Coast Guard regulations require certain facilities, vessels, and ports to establish a security plan, which must be approved by the Coast Guard. Unfortunately, the regulations have proven to be cumbersome and many companies do not understand what they must do to comply. Rushing Marine has helped many of our customers comply with these regulations by creating company-specific security plans for their facilities and vessels.
Rushing Marine believes effective safety management systems must contain five elements: company-specific policies and procedures, an inspection program, employee involvement, employee training, and internal auditing/surveying.
Our consultants will work with you to develop these elements of your safety management system, and provide ongoing involvement in the program depending on your needs, as well as training and resources for your management and employees.
