From Humble Beginnings - In the year 1965 Kenny Sims decided to open his own stone business. Back before the company had a shop location they ran Custom Stone out of their very own home. Though the company's name may have changed over the years the heart and soul put into the work never has. With the help of his two sons; Kevin and Steve Sims, they worked countless hours building Custom Stone Company.
From starting with one Ford dump truck to owning one of the largest stone fabrication shops in Virginia the Sims Family has always put the quality of their work first. It was a long road of hard work and determination before Kenny & his wife Joan selected the perfect property to build the shop location.

What a fantastic purchase experience for our marble fireplace hearth! Jane was SO graciously helpful. She left a material sample outside the office when we couldn’t get there in time, and offered to stay after hours to accommodate our long drive. We just don’t often see this type of personal attention and service anymore, especially for a small project. Highly recommend!!

Wanted to redo an ethan allen end table with a quartz top. Jane Ibeawuchi was great to deal with. They cut us a custom quartz top with very nice ogee detail and rounded edges and were able to mount it on our antique end table base. a very satisfactory outcome and a much nicer table than would have been available for any money in a retail furniture store

Really a 4.5, not a 4. Jane helped us find a quartz remnant for our itsy-bitsy bar install on our new back porch. She spent probably too much time & effort helping us, but the results speak for themselves. Quartz looks great and we're getting nothing but compliments. Only ding, installer wouldn't caulk the gap between brick and bar top, relaying they never do with a material like that (the brick) due to excessive gaps. This is ridiculous. Silicone caulking did the job in all of 2 minutes. Any-who, highly recommend and greatly appreciate the hand-written thank you note :-]
