Your job is to actively participate in your treatment, question, ask and create the change you want. I will guide you through this process. What sets me apart from other therapists is my interactive approach to your concerns. While I am formally trained to look at your issues using a psychoanalytic perspective, I understand that many clients also want "real time" conceptualizations of their concerns.

I hold a Master of Arts in Social Clinical Psychology from the famed social-political institution, The New College of California. I was clinical trained by psychoanalytic Italian clinician Dr. Lucca Didonna and psychoanyaltic Israeli Clinician Dr. Channa Eckstein. Both psychoanalytically trained psychodynamic clinicians.
I am a classically trained Psychodynamic psychotherapist. Think classic psychoanalysis but with a modern slant. I look at your issues with a 360 perspective. We will find the root of the issue, the source of its energy, by looking at past patterns and styles of relating and behavior. We will sync up the connections and deactivate old patterns that are not useful.
The time you will need to spend in therapy is up to you and is different for everyone. Sometimes, clients may only need a few months to sort out a specific issue and others may spend much more time in therapy resolving and deconstructing complex issues and history. We should get a feel for how long you might need to be in therapy and what we will likely focus on within the first 5 sessions.
Robert is trained in the following modalities and will use the modality that will be most useful to your issues. We deactivate "old" emotions/triggers and help your brain bring the "problem" to adaptive resolution. See section EMDR. Cognitive behavioral therapy, or CBT, is a short-term therapy technique that can help people find new ways to behave by changing their thought patterns.
This is the EMDR protocol that I use for relapse prevention and eating disorders in remission. The FSP breaks the fixation between feeling and behavior. This fixation is the cause of addictions. By identifying the exact feeling and behavior, the fixation can be processed using a modified form of the EMDR protocol (FSAP).
