Founded in 1960 by John Rayda and Eugene Sutter, RAD Engineered Wood Products has been producing high-quality hardwood truck floors for more than five decades. Rayda eventually became the sole owner of the company and grew the business through the 1960s. He developed a hook joint called the "RadLoc, " which is still used in the industry today.

In 2012 RAD was acquired by a new group of investors who recognized it was a long-standing company with a strong brand and high-quality product. Current ownership is committed to the original values and quality that helped define RAD and grew it into the industry leader it is today. We've been delivering best-in-class solutions for the trucking industry for over 60 years, continuing to develop new products and innovative ways to produce them.
Services
RAD is focused on flooring solutions for box trucks, dry van trailers, and aftermarket parts, and draws on decades of experience to partner with the highest quality wood suppliers in the Northeast. Locally-sourced and 100% Made in the USA, our truck and trailer flooring is built to last. The trucking industry has trusted RAD for over 60 years to offer long-lasting flooring that will hold up under the toughest conditions.
When you choose RAD, it goes without saying that you will get the highest quality floor on the market, but did you know RAD offers unique supply-chain services as well? RAD offers supply chain and inventory management services to our customers to provide flexibility for our OEM and replacement part customers.
Our lumber is sustainably forested and locally sourced from the northeastern US and 100% made in the USA. With no use of illegal, IUCN Red List tropical hardwood species (like apitong or keruing), or off-shore supply chain of any kind, we offer a more efficient and reliable supply chain for your trucking business, while ensuring a smaller & more sustainable environmental footprint than our international and domestic competitors.
RAD Floors are tough. We know that to get more than ten years out of a truck floor we need to start with the highest quality lumber available. That is why we source our lumber locally using top-quality vendors. Our milling process leverages the strength and flexibility of wood and combines it with leading wood science to make a RAD floor last.
We use a unique blend of northern US hardwoods to provide an affordable yet reliable truck body flooring solution. RAD offers oak flooring, the traditional option for dry van trucks and trailers, as well as mixed hardwood flooring that offers a long-lasting and high quality solution. Whichever material option is right for your trailer, RAD can help you decide and get the most out of your investment.

RAD is located in a small Industrial zone consisting of 2 manufacturing businesses surrounded by residences. Extreme noise polluter. Almost constant noise, can be heard at times INDOORS at 1/2 mile away. Elementary school located 1000 ft. away. They work with large garage type doors open which increases the noise. There is no noise suppression evident. A horrible business and terrible neighbor.

They unload you in a decent amount of time if your there when your appointment is for. Not much space in the back most the time.
