Services
Founded in 1971, CODAC Behavioral Healthcare is Rhode Island's oldest and largest non-profit, outpatient provider of treatment for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD).With seven community-based locations, as well as programming at the Rhode Island Department of Corrections (RI DOC), CODAC is well-positioned to deliver services wherever they are needed across the state.
If you are interested in partnering with CODAC for recovery treatment and services, you will have the following available to you: Supportive Counseling, Behavioral therapy, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) as well as Acu-detox ear acupunctureand therapeutic massage.

Together with your provider, your Substance Use Disorder treatment plan will be created based on your specific personal strengths, individual needs, abilities and preferences in mind. With medication options including methadone, buprenorphine (SuboxoneTM), oral naltrexone and injectable depot naltrexone (VivitrolTM), you and your CODAC provider will work together to determine the best fit for you.
CODAC offers psychiatric and mental health services at all of their locations. After an initial intake screening you may be referred to an on-site psychiatric practitioner for further evaluation and treatment. Individualized treatment and recovery plans might include medication management supervised by the psychiatric practitioner and ongoing co-occurring counseling with clinical staff.
For decades, CODAC's programs have reflected a commitment to caring not just for the individual with an SUD, but for the whole person. We offer programs and resources to our patients to support overall physical and mental health. Patient-centered treatment and recovery plans take into account changing health and wellness needs over time.
Our Pain Solutions program, located at the Eleanor Slater Center for Excellence has been developed to serve the needs of individuals with chronic pain as well as those who are opioid dependent.

After a complete bio-psych-social pain assessment, patients work with a pain specialist to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that may include supportive counseling, education, skills development, cognitive behavioral therapy, acupuncture, yoga, nutritional therapy and therapeutic massage. With a focus on the Mind-Body connection, the goal is to explore the patients' relationship with pain, and learn new strategies to enhance their lives.

Been at codac 6 years on Huntington. I love it. I am finally on split dose and 6 take homes I'll get 13 take homes in February. I can't wait I've waited sooooooo long and worked so hard for everything like correct dose, split dose, 13 take homes. It's a very proud achievement for anyone. Methadone saved my life and take home privelages have seriously motivated me to make the the right decisions.
