Our Podiatric Physicians are experienced in the treatment of all types of foot related problems including, Sports Medicine, Diabetic and Non-Diabetic Complicated Wounds, Arthritic Disorders, Bunions, Callouses, Corns, Circulation problems, Hammertoes, Fractures, Infant and child developmental Problems of the feet and legs.
All of our doctors are bilingual in English and Spanish. They are trained in the treatment of fungal nails with the Cutera Laser. Dr. Vega works at the prestigious wound care centers of Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital, Whitter and Beverly Hospital, Montebello. Our physicians can also be found at various AltaMed Community Clinics in the San Gabriel Valley.
The toe is forced to bend toward the others, causing an often painful lump of bone on the foot. Because this joint carries a lot of the body's weight while walking, bunions can cause extreme pain if left untreated. The MTP joint itself may become stiff and sore, making even the wearing of shoes difficult or impossible.
Corns and calluses are areas of thickened skin that develop to protect that area from irritation. They occur when something rubs against the foot repeatedly or causes excess pressure against part of the foot. If the thickening of skin occurs on the bottom of the foot, it's called a callus. If it occurs on the top of the foot (or toe), it's called a corn.
Arthritis, in general terms, is inflammation and swelling of the cartilage and lining of the joints, generally accompanied by an increase in the fluid in the joints. Arthritis has multiple causes; just as a sore throat may have its origin in a variety of diseases, so joint inflammation and arthritis are associated with many different illnesses.

West Beverly Podiatry, BEWARE !!! Service and very unprofessional staff and incompetent. Had to call twice and ask if the insert arrived, after 4 weeks and both times gave excuse of Covid and production delays. They said it arrived the same day I called or the day before, full of excuses and made up stories. Went to pick up insert and said it was ready and was not ready, they it said it had to be sent back for adjustment, has been 4 weeks. Service and treatment of patient and customers is lacking. Poor customer service. Office manager needs attitude adjustment and management training.

I have been seeing Dr. Vega for several years, now. I started with him to fix a totally botched up surgery that left my left foot with dislocated toes, looking mangled, and in a lot of pain. Dr. Vega completely re-did my foot, straightened out the toes, making my foot look human, again, and no more pain.

This place is very professional. I’ve gone here a couple of times for small procedures and they always make sure I can’t feel anything. They’re quick with what they do but always do an amazing job ! I’ve never had problems after the procedure being done. Definitely my go to place whenever I have a foot problem 😁

What can I say about Dr. Michael Vega? Well, it's as easy as 1, 2, 3! Professionalism, patience, and understanding of my podiatry needs. It's not easy to entrust a doctor with surgery procedures but guess what? Dr. Vega is 110% trustworthy due to his experience and years of practice.
I've had a few surgeries with him within the last 20 years and I have nothing but high regards for him. I've had the following procedures: mallet toe correction (11/19/20) and a hammertoe correction in my younger years. Voila! My toes look and feel fabulous!

I would not recommend this group at all! Sleazy billing practices. Usually when you visit a podiatrist's office, they remove any corns and calluses as part of a routine foot exam. Dr. Vega removed my corns and calluses, however he coded this on the bill as "lesion removal" which he needed approval from my insurance company. I had to pay $150 out of pocket!!!! I called their billing office and was told that they could see about giving me the cash price but had to check with their office manager, who was NEVER in the office. Such a billing scam. Horrible customer service. I called twice to ask what the price would be for a consultation so the doctor could see my daughters ingrown toe nail. Said it was $110 so that was fine with me until today.. I had my appointment January 13 and the doctor starts doing the procedure.. then once they are all done they hit me with a $200 dollar bill.. they couldnt even tell me the amount it would cost for everything or give me a rough estimate. I have other bills to pay and now i have to find ways to replace the extra $90 i was charged.. dont recommend this place at all

I would like to thank Dr Vega and his staff Claudia, Norman, and the rest for making my visitations and treatment a great comfort. Dr Vega is an excellent foot specialist who is well knowledge and have developed a great open communication relationship toward the best care for my injury. I been in search of a local DPM and believe that search is over. I been to many treatment facilities, offices, and doctors over the last 7 years and none have come close to the level of professionalism that the West Beverly Podiatry Group has set as their standards. My mom was a diabetic so good foot care is vital. Dr. Ung and Dr. Vega took care of my mom for a few years in a very competent and caring manner. Often they would provide free samples of foot moisturizing creams that worked well and provided great advice on foot care. I highly recommend this clinic and it's staff.

My visit today was cool. The front office staff were very professional and helpful. I had went in for an issue that I thought had been taken care of before but it ended up coming up, this was my first visit their. After speaking f to nurses and Dr they informed me that the issue was going g to get resolved today. That made me super nervous, but the Dr was cool. She was quick and kind. This Dr. is amazing! I was referred to him by my primary physician because I needed major surgery on my peroneal tendon. I previously consulted several doctors that did not have the competence or knowledge that Dr. Vega demonstrated on our first encounter.

The office staff, medical assistants and Dr. Hellewell were awesome. Very helpful, resourceful, attentive and knowledgeable with every question that I had about my foot issues. The whole process was quick, painless, easy and affordable.
