Cougar Rv Park & Campground
Located in the small quaint town of Cougar, Washington, on the south side of Mt. St. Helens, a paradise for the outdoor enthusiasts, you will find Cougar RV Park & Campground. There are four popular lakes within 20 miles or less of the park for fishing and water sports. The Ape Caves, the third longest lava tube in the United States, is just a short 8 miles away in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest; as well as the Climbers Bivouac Trailhead.

The forest also offers ample outdoor opportunities: OHV trails, horseback riding trails, hiking trails, mushroom and huckleberry picking, hunting, snowshoeing and snowmobiling are just a few of the many activities nearby that make this park a great "base camp" for all your outdoor adventures! There's much to see here.
Services
Most full hookup sites are pull-through with either 30 amp or 50 amp electrical service and can accommodate the largest RV. Most partial hookup sites are pull-through with 30 amp electrical service and can accommodate an RV up to 40 feet (plus large vehicle). Most tent sites are large and can accommodate 2-4 tents with 2 to 3 vehicles.
We are a pet friendly RV Park and to continue allowing pets we enforce a strict pet policy. Please always have your pet on a leash (no more than 8 feet) and pick up after them (even in the National Forest). We have pet waste bags available by the office door. If your dog is an excessive barker, please do not leave unattended.
Whether you're an experienced camper or planning your first outing, be sure you mind your manners at the campground! Camping etiquette is, for the most park, common courtesy. Obey the campgrounds quiet hours. Voices, radios and other noises carry further than you might think on a quiet summer night.

The space easily accommodated a 40ft motor home with 3 slides and had tons of room to spare. Full hook-ups with clean showers and toilets and friendly staff. We were able to have a campfire (a lot of places don't allow) and are a few blocks from restaurants, gas/diesel, ice, wood, and snacks. Pet friendly! Close to rock beaches and several boat launches and 8mi from Ape Caves (which is a MUST SEE). Just make sure you get the parking pass AND the entrance pass before arriving there. Will happily stay here again. We were assigned a spot online, but after I called and spoke with Stacy in the office

We left early from this site as the evenings were loud and rowdy and the sites had no privacy to sit and enjoy. Our first site, the electricity went out however the owner, Stacy, was very kind and gave us a new site. It seems that while the owners are very nice, the campground attracts a more rowdy crowd than we wanted for our two little boys and ourselves. There was also no where for the boys to really play. I wouldn’t really recommend it for families.

We booked a site here as a last resort, because everything else in the area was full. It's an interesting mix of campground and kind of a trailer park, with the permanent RV residents, which tend to junk up the place a little bit. The campground is next to the busy road, so you get some loud traffic from time to time. The bathrooms are ok. There are 2 large rooms with showers, and they had just installed 2 new rooms, with toilets and sinks only. We ended up with a great site towards the back and on the side. It was quiet and peaceful. Although we enjoyed our stay, if the place was full, I can see

It's alright. Definitely more of an RV camp than I was expecting. If you're staying in a tent you may want to bring ear plugs. We were staying in the backside of the area, but could still hear the highway (traffic wasn't frequent, but when it was it was usually loud. The folks in the neighboring property were also blasting music late into the night, which was extremely annoying. However it was close to Gifford Pinchot and a good jumping off point for adventures in the forest

Thought about a three star, but staff (owners) are very nice, and we had a nice stay. Did note WiFi is very poor, often even my phone would not connect and our Toshiba Laptop never would, even when in the office where the router is. The other thing we noticed is that there are some "long term" folks with very junkie spaces, cars that have not moved for a long time etc. Understand having long term folks for a constant income, but would not tolerate the messy sites. But, would stay again as nice location.

We had to come in late but they were still very accommodating. I will say the campground wasn't the nicest though it had been raining when we arrived. In my site there was not service and if there was elsewhere in the camp site it would have been low. The road to get here was also windy at some points so if you're not the most comfortable driving an RV I wouldn't recommend.

Had such a great weekend. This campsite is awesome. Clean bathrooms. Spacious camp site, great food options if you're not up to cooking, and close to fun on the water

We have both camped and stayed in your cabins! This place is run so well. The owners are very friendly and work so hard to make your trip special. When we camped, you delivered firewood right to our site! When we stayed in the Cabin in Spring you turned on the heat well before we arrived in the late afternoon and it was so nice and cozy! Bathrooms are clean and modern with plenty of hot water! I and my family highly recommend Cougar RV Park and Campground.
