Made from the Norton or commonly known as the Cynthiana grape. Close characteristics to a Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon with a light mocha oak and refreshing fruit finish. A dry white wine a floral aroma with light notes of citrus fruit and a delicate spiciness. Very similar to the German Gewurztraminer wine.
A semi-sweet wine that is made with a mixture of blackberries, and a hint of Merlot grapes. You will experience the aroma taste of fresh blackberries. After five years of preparation, Smyrna's very first winery & vineyard, Avian Glen Winery. About Avian Glen When Avian Glen's owner Dr. Larry Davis first saw the land he fell in love with it, so he reached out to the owner.

I'm not a fan of Wine to be honest, however I was shown the Blackberry wine from these folks. On the way home back yo Indiana I decided to buy a case of this wine.
The flavor is the perfect mix between sweet and bitter, with a small bite at the end. I look forward to ordering from here in the future.

We first went to Arrington - armed guards and COVID running rampant. We were quickly chased away. We then stumbled across Avian Winery and were welcomed with the warmest, most tender arms of Amelia’s youngest. What he lacks in age, he makes up for with a heavy hand, pouring the healthiest of tastings. We then enjoyed a night out with fellow Arrington rejects and were bid a good evening by the Queen Amelia herself and the neighbors. Would definitely recommend. Note: do NOT steal the glasses.

Avian Glen is a smaller winery than another nearby option, but did not disappoint! They offer a very generous free tasting of ALL of their wines, and the staff is very knowledgeable about the wines and the estate! My favorite wine was the blackberry, but watch out, it will sneak up on you at 13% Abv!

Amazing experience. We came across this winery on our way back to Nashville as we were out this way way visiting another winery. It is just a couple years old so it wasn’t as crowded. We were greeted immediately and were able to try a lot of different wines before we purchased a bottle of the blackberry. Had a great conversation with the manager - very much worth the drive and your time if you like wine. The view isn’t much but the wine is fantastic! Hope to see this place succeed!
