We're a member-owned, non-profit financial cooperative, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Community involvement is a cornerstone of RTN as a credit union. Founded in 1945, RTN is one of the largest credit unions in Massachusetts, with over $1 billion in assets, nearly 50,000 members and 18 branches.
Services
Family Membership - If you are related to someone who already is an RTN member or eligible to be a member of the Credit Union. Employer Group - If you are employed by, retired from or have a family member that is working for or is retired from one of our employer groups. See if your company or organization on our list of Select Employer Groups.
You can contact a Members Services Representative anytime for help with your account or to apply for a loan. Are you an RTN Online Banking user? If so, you have access to secure email. Just log in to your account and click the on the green envelope to compose new email to write in and send your message.
RTN at Work brings the Credit Union directly to our employer groups and their employees wherever they work. We partner with our employer groups to bring financial wellness to your workplace community and help your employees strengthen their financial wellbeing. The customer service is dismal. Their robot system is terrible. It takes you from menu to menu and when it doesn't disconnect you automatically it's not the right choice. I needed to report a stolen card but when u enter the option it says" this is not the place to report a stolen card" and no option to do so. After 20 minutes of being automatically hung up i finally reached Donna. She "transferred me " to the right extension...NOT! back to the robot and to no option.
Their verification system for out of state purchases is horrible too.
Overall...there are MUCH better institutions out there to

This is the worst bank I have ever been to, I had a terrible experience with Kathleen before and let me tell you this bank is horrible one teller and 10 people waiting. I will never recommend this bank to anyone if I could give it zero stars I would. She also ask me for my license and she said she’s the only person that can update it. I work in a bank and this is such a lie.

I was customer. The employees are very unprofessional, no one returns calls or emails.

I should have read all the reviews, as well.

Stick with a regular Bank and you'll see the difference.

Np one answers the phone during the day or at night?
I tried to send $20 to the red cross in england and they blocked the payment because it was to a foreign nation.
No common sense. The security is bogus.
You are better off with another bank.

Got my mortgage refinanced here recently and had a really positive experience. They were really busy like the rest of the world with applications so it was slow at first but out of three banks and credit unions we applied at they got the business and we got a great rate.

Happy with the service and rate I got refinancing my mortgage with them. Everyone is refinancing with rates so low so it did take some time but they came through and were a pleasure to work with. Much better than another local credit union I applied with.

I have had multiple car loans over the years from RTN. Recently I paid a loan off. We had set up an automatic transfer from my other bank to cover the loan. I asked them to stop the automatic transfers. I filled out a separate form for this purpose. A month goes by and they still automatically transfer money out of my other account.

This is a huge error as this was a checking account and could have potentially cost a lot of money in overdraft fees if I didn't have the spare cash in there.

I have 20x more money in other banks and this was a reminder as to why I don't move more

Stay clear of this bank - trust me. They over-promise and under-deliver on mortgage refi's, sadly. There are too many other good banks in Massachusetts you can use for mortgages and refi's. I had to cancel my application with them for a refinance when they could not find an Appraiser (after they collected the $450 fee). STAY CLEAR - trust me. I have filed formal complaints with Credit Union and Bank governing agencies in Massachusetts to expose and discourage RTN's unethical and irresponsible behavior. I hope this review helps just 1 person who might consider NOT giving them

I am writing to commend RTN and staff for offering - and enforcing - safety protocols related to the COVID-19 pandemic. I make weekly deposits at the Waltham branch; I appreciate that they put the health and safety of the RTN staff and members as their first priority. I was struck by this especially this week. After leaving RTN, I went to conduct business at another nearby well-known bank and found chaos! Too many people in a small space, no posted instructions, minimal social distancing. Stay away, these people are racist, and if you are a person of color they will try to ruin you financially at the first chance they get, even if you have a credit score over 800 and overpay on all your payments.......please save yourself a d go somewhere else!

They need to consult with Bank of America to quell their Covid fear. The Dorchester branch is closed w drive up teller access only. So I've been in Lu e for 1hr and 13 minutes and am still about 5 cars away from the teller. What a waste of time! Haven't they heard of masks and cleaning ? Wish. Wish I had my account somewhere else

Awful bank. Just looked at my statements and they charge $12.00 fee to transfer money between accounts through their app. I’m so happy I’m switching banks. That’s just plain robbery. Goodbye RTN!

This place is garbage. Never used a credit union or bank which puts your credit card on a protective hold every month.

Any out-of-the-ordinary transaction and you can guarantee these dummies will cancel your card. This is extremely embarrassing when you're at a restaurant or buying groceries and realized your bank cancelled your card again.

Customer service is terrible. I tried to register my account online but got stuck because they asked me to call the customer service to register my phone!? I called and waited for 30 minutes and no one answered me. I ended up hanging up and will try to stop by a branch tomorrow. I don't even know if they will help me with this. For now, I'm not really happy with their customer service.

Nancy the teller is a joke. She had an attitude as soon as I walked in and when I was looking for my loan number she was rushing me to move to the side. When inquiring her about paying a loan with a credit card she said she could probably take it. She takes my credit card and without my knowledge tries to do a CASH ADVANCE. Her mistake was going to cost me $1500. Once I got the receipt stating cash advance I immediately asked her to reverse the charge which she replied "I can't". I demanded to see a manger immediately which she rolled her eyes at me and when telling the manager what happened she

We dealt with Franka from the Worcester Branch, she went out and beyond to help us. We applied for a loan and had everything done in one day, she new my husband was disabled and it was a hour ride, so she did everything over the phone and emailed us all paper work. That is a service you never hear of any more, it is called compassion. We would like to thank her for her hard work, there should be more Franka's out there.

RTN Waltham ATM is used as a homeless addict shelter. I have written and called RTN for more than one year. Yesterday 5.5.2018 I went to this ATM to bank. But again a poor addict was laying next the machine and the baggage and clothes everywhere. RTN is not keeping their customers safe and your money is also unsafe with them because they just don’t care. Simply checking this area at 6 am everyday is what they should do.

If I could leave no stars, I would.

This bank delivers the worst customer service I have ever experienced, with departments so compartmentalized that no single person is ever able to resolve any issues completely.

They will take your phone number and promise to deliver a call back, meanwhile your bank card has stopped working and days later you must again initiate contact. I have threatened to close my account numerous times for flagging my card without notice, being unable to explain why I can't access my account, and even failing to offer a temporary card while I awaited a replacement

Horrible customer service. I cannot begin to tell you how disorganized and unprofessional. I am dealing with a number of financial institutions at this time - RTN the worst! No policies in place- you get a different story from every person you speak with. I finally went in person- I am shocked at had badly I was treated.

The rates are great and all but just save yourself the headache and 3 hours on the phone with multiple employees who have NO idea what their doing (not even their supervisors name...I asked and had to wait 5 mins on hold until it was located and after that waited 3 mins to get the spelling...are you joking?!).

When I did finally get the supervisors name, she refused to speak to me thus making my whole experience a game of phone (and hold) tag. Absolutely the WORST customer service and ZERO knowledge of what anyone's job is. I've had to call them for the same mistake over 3 times and

This happens to be the worst online banking experience ever. This system has failed me on several occasions. Most of the time is impossible to login. I have had to change my password more than four times and still after you are done jumping through every hoop it does not allow you to use your newly created password. These transactions are some of the most important tasks that need to be competed in a given day. I have had less than a 10% success rate at competing any one of them. For example, try to find the online login area on the website... I dare you to try. FYI... look at Citizens and copy

I went into open a checking and savings account. I knew they would be busy because they just switched over some online banking system but my wait time was only a few minutes. I sat down with Victor. He was so nice ! He did everything very fast and made great conversation with me. He also helped me enroll in e-statements, online banking, and the mobile banking app! He even gave me an RTN gift bag to go along with my welcome packet.

I don't see why there are so many bad reviews, everyone at this location seemed very hard working and patients with members! I highly recommend RTN in Waltham
