Dr. Brandon graduated from Shelby High School in 2005. He finished his undergraduate at Appalachian State University in 2009 where he was on the Dean's list and was the president of the ASU Dental Club. He graduated from the UNC School of Dentistry in May of 2013 and started working with his father, Paul Hounshell who had been practicing densitry since 1982.
By the grace of God, our office was able to provide all the equipment needed to setup this much needed office. They currently help 350-400 people each month. The Hounshell Family Dentistry staff volunteered to provide free dental care for Slovic refugees in Asheville, NC. In 2012 Dr. Paul, Dr. Brandon, and Hana volunteered at a Mission's of Mercy clinic in Gastonia, NC.

Here at Hounshell Family Dentistry we believe that every person deserves to have preventative and comprehensive dental treatment at an affordable price. We care about you so to combat this problem we've come up with a solution.
We are in network with Delta Dental PPO, MetLife, and Ameritas. We accept most traditional insurance plans, contact our office to verify acceptance of your plan. We are happy to file insurance for your reimbursement. CareCredit is here to help you pay for treatments and procedures your insurance doesn't cover.
Here at Hounshell Family Dentistry, we are proud to offer comprehensive care for our patients. Our goal in offering comprehensive care is to be able to offer any service that our patients need. We don't want to have to refer them to another dentist for any extra care. To do this, we are proud to offer routine and preventative care for our patients.

Best staff and service since Spangler! The office itself is so warm and welcoming (perfectly spotless). Everyone there is super sweet. They do a wonderful job! I lost a tooth when I was in 5th grade(14years ago) and the fake one was starting to show its age. They did such an amazing job I could have cried. They gave me my smile back. Do not hesitate to try this dentist I doubt you'll find a better one in shelby.

This office is so efficient and friendly. I’ve never enjoyed dental visits, but this office has a relaxed atmosphere, yet remains professional. The staff has a cohesive function that allows you to feel well cared for no matter which individual you’re interacting with. Just left there and my teeth are really clean, but my mouth doesn’t feel like it has been punished! Missy is great! Thank you for a continuing positive experience.

The staff at Hounshell Family Dentistry are always genuinely warm and welcoming. Dr. Brandon is a very capable and friendly dentist, and quite honest. My husband, my kids and I all see Dr. Brandon and have never had a bad experience with any of the staff. Every single hygienist and assistant is exceptionally capable, pleasant, and upbeat. I have had extensive dental work done with Hounshell Family Dentistry, and it has been so healing to work with a dentist who is invested in my health and willing to work at a pace I'm comfortable with. Additionally, cost of dental work is always discussed freely

This is what i posted to my Facebook after leaving this office. There is no better advertising than by word of mouth. After posting, one friend informed me that she had made an appointment for the Thursday after New Year's, and i had two others ask me questions. not only do i have a great place to go for dentistry, but wow, i found ministers of Christ to our community, and that's exactly what Christ wants us to do!
