J&W has been building a reputation in asphalt repair since 1976. We are a second-generation, family-owned business and grown to become established leaders in the asphalt industry in the Twin Cities metro area. Building strong, lasting relationships is at the heart of what we do. The "J and W" in our name originally stood for Johnson and Wagner, our founders.
Dennis Johnson and Jerry Wagner worked as asphalt pavers with McNamara Construction, located in Rosemount, Minnesota. Denny worked as a grading foreman, and Jerry was a paving foreman. Using their knowledge and experience, they opened up a small operation with just five employees, a tractor, two dump trucks, and a tail paver.

Experience was very positive. Prep-work was completed on day scheduled. The pavement work was completed 2 days later. The new driveway looks wonderful and the crew took the extra time to ensure the job was done right, as if they were paving their own driveway. They also did a great job on the cleanup afterward.

J&W Asphalt removed our old asphalt driveway which had a sunken apron. Did frost block repair underneath the front edge of the garage floor where the apron had sunk. Added base and graded the ground so that rain hitting the driveway and the water runoff from the gutters would slope and go toward the existing built in drain. Added asphalt curbs by the drain and by the sidewalk. Also replaced the water valve casting. My experience with J&W was very positive. So far so great! Love our new driveway!
We've had some questions during the process but company representatives were very responsive and gave all the answers quickly.
The job was done much sooner then first expected which is great, as now I can enjoy my new driveway before snow will come.
I hope in a long run the quality will be as good as the look right now😊
Price was very affordable and not on the high end, as other companies quoted.

J&W did a great job repairing our asphalt driveway apron that had sunk several inches. It looks great and the entry to the garage is very smooth. The team members were polite and friendly. They seemed to be having fun while they worked too. The cost was a good value and I'm glad that I went with J&W.

I chose J&W in 2016 because they are an actual paving company who also does sealcoating. I figured they'd have a higher level of understanding how to care for asphalt than a couple of guys from Craigslist. Their bid was a little higher though not as high as another asphalt company, and it wasn't enough to make a significant dent in my wallet. They were professional and worked efficiently.
I had the work done a little later in the summer and this spring had an issue with a couple of cracks opening up. I called Joe Hagen their customer service man, and even though the cracks were not

We allowed these people to bid on a large project for our complex. In return they spread slander and defamatory claims in addition to being 30% higher than the winning bidders. They were given a chance to correct their claims on record and refused to do so.
Shawn is claiming I am untruthful. Yet I still have the recording of his lies, claiming it was the old man being "mistaken". Unethical and cowardly folks.
