I went in for what I thought would be a first visit, an exam and cleaning. It turned into a question and answer session, a full review of my dental and medical history and the assumption on the dentist's part of a "treatment plan". He even said and intimated he is looking for "long-term care match" candidates. He was very clinical, almost mechanical and O.C.D. in checking off boxes. It was like a job interview, and it was hard not to feel like I had to prove myself worthy of being in his practice.
