Our goal is to build a strong local food network through direct involvement both as producers and consumers while providing some of this region's best produce and catering services. Blackbird Gardens is an integrated culinary garden and fine catering company. For over 25 years, we have been committed to providing the local community with clean-grown vegetables, fruits, flowers, and herbs.
Foods produced are used for catering events, sold at local farmers markets and restaurants, and made into value-added products such as pesto and roasted tomatoes. The infrastructure of our farm includes many salvaged building materials, including two structures that were moved to the property and renovated.

In an effort to fully include customers in the mission of Blackbird Gardens, we host occasional meals on-site. For parties of 20 or less, we can plan a variety of menus to prepare and serve, while you overlook Little Traverse Bay and enjoy lush garden surroundings. For example, we collaborated with See-North, a local environmental education non-profit, to host a dinner focused on wild foods and early spring foods from the garden.
Our head chef Mike Everts has 25 years of experience preparing a variety of meals for all types of events: from 400 person weddings to intimate family birthdays, from summer folk festivals to company retreats. While we have a strong background in authentic world and vegetarian work, we can always accommodate the cuisine you desire through sourcing as much local and organic food as possible.
