NHA is a private, not for profit, maternal and child nutrition and health organization established in 1983. Dedicated to promoting good nutrition and health choices by offering educational programs, community resources and nutrition consultant services in the communities we serve.

We at Nutrition and Health Associates are proud to share our nutrition expertise with the community. In addition to our nutrition-based programs, we provide other supportive health services to our clients and community partners. It is with our quality programs and staff that we are helping build healthy families, strong communities and bright futures!
Healthy Beginnings+, also known as Prenatal Care Coordination (PCC), is a Medicaid and Badger Care Plus benefit that helps pregnant women get the support and services they need to have a healthy baby. A Care Coordinator will help women during their pregnancy and for 2 months after their baby is born.
Mother-to-mother support has proven to be one of the most successful approaches to encourage mothers to breastfeed their babies. The WI Peer Counselor Program hires and trains mothers who have successfully breastfed to encourage other women to breastfeed. The concept at the heart of the Peer Counselor Program is that, as peers, these mothers have an ability to help and influence other mothers that health professionals do not have.
Health Check is a preventative health check-up program for anyone under the age of 21 who is currently eligible for Wisconsin Medicaid or BadgerCare Plus. The goal of the program is to ensure health conditions and problems are detected and treated early, before they become more serious. Health Check screenings are provided according to a schedule based on recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
