Karen and Jim Lillie first opened Lillies in October of 2007. Their business venture came about while Karen was walking through the old Woolen Mill in Cedarburg shopping with her daughter, when they found themselves on the third floor looking through the windows of an available space. Looking for a way to make a living as well as making a difference in the world, lillies opened in a one-room space filled with mostly unique fair trade products.
I am so excited every time I get a chance to stop into Lillies. This is the type of shop I would have wandered around in for hours in my teenage years- it's a mix of local and global products that I don't see everywhere else. Some of my favorite yoga pants and hoodies have come from Lillies. The ladies working there are incredibly warm and friendly and helpful.

It’s really a shame that the people who work here are so rude and impersonal. I’ve been here a few times in the last few months and felt like this after each visit. Unfortunately, they are one of the only spots that had what I was looking for at the time. I’m always happy to shop locally first, but the attitude from the manager needs to go.

Very disappointed, received a lovely dress as a gift from Lillies. When purchased buyer was told since it was a gift, it could be returned within 2 weeks. The dress was too big, and when I went in to exchange it I was told all purchases are final. I explained the situation, and sales clerk said it must have been a mistake, no returns. The dress was purchased yesterday, never worn, and it was not on sale. Not sure if they think Covid 19 can be contracted from clothing? All in all, this was an unfortunate experience. They should have a sign, upon entering, all purchases are final, no returns.

I just had the WORST customer service experience of my life at Lillies in Cedarburg. My husband and I recently discovered Cedarburg and enjoyed a little Christmas shopping on 12/15/18. We spent $156 at Lillies, which included a pair of $34 pajamas for our 2 year old grandson. Christmas day, we discovered the very expensive but adorable Holiday themed pajamas were one size too small. Today (12/26/18), exactly 11 days later, we made the 1 1/2 hour drive back to Cedarburg from Lake Geneva to exchange the pj's for the next size up. The young girl behind the counter told me 'ALL HOLIDAY ITEMS

Though there are some one star comments due to artists not getting paid and the 14 day return policy, this store has a very nice selection of cool, hip, organic, modern clothing, jewelry and purses. Funky styles. Not the same same that you find in all the boutiques. And they have small and extra small sizes. Will come back!

Yesterday was the last time I will set foot in Lillies. I was there 3 weeks ago and spent hundreds of dollars as usual. Two of my purchases were Oh My Gauze tops. This is an excellent brand and I own several pieces. So I packed them in my bag for my vacation. However, when I went to put them on with the pants I already had laundered, the tops did not match. So when I came home I went to return them to Lillies. The tags were still on and I had my receipt. I was told that I was a week too late to return or even exchange the tops!
Are you kidding?!? A two week return or exchange policy?

I'm a small business owner who works with a lot of local small retailers in Southeast, Wisconsin. I've been working with Lillies for several years and I honestly am excited when I see I have a Lillies delivery on the schedule. I know this comes across as "of course she's praising a shop her products

Disclaimer: I've never been to this particular store location, but I am a silversmith and had a lot of my pieces on consignment at the Boulder, CO location (before it closed). Karen was the owner of it as well, so I figure the review is still applicable.
I would advice any local artists NOT to consign at Lillies! First of all, your money will never come on time, sometimes up to 2.5 months late. Also, I had to ask repeatedly to get a list of what sold. Otherwise how could I ever keep track?
Biggest problem was when the Boulder store closed though. I came to pick up all my remaining jewelry and

Always been met with a courteous staff. Great selection of clothing and accessories that fit the fair trade mold. Absolutely love their kids toy and accessory collection! Well made pieces that you can feel proud giving to someone and knowing it will last and can be passed down from siblings and friends dn family.

Poorly run business whose interest, it seems, is only to take their customers' money, even when it is a credit.
I purchased and returned an item last year, and now wanted to spend the in-store credit. My local store closed last year and put a sign on the door saying "Shop Online". So, that is what I tried to do today--to use my store credit of $52.79. I was informed that I couldn't use it because the store closed and I had 60 days to use the credit. Problem is, no one ever called me to inform me that I had limited time to use it.
Shame on you Lillie's, for not honouring a store credit. That is

It was an interesting store with various material objects that represent ideas of earth-loving goods and fun gift ideas for anybody who enjoys colorful crafty items. There are items for pets, infants, of course, older individuals, as well. I enjoyed this store and like it's sister store, "Weeds" just down the road.

Return policy is 14 days!, I went on the 15th day and wasn't even allowed to exchange items! Owner doesn't answer e mails or phone calls, she claims her response wouldn't go through. Really, but I could write to her? Shop local?. No thanks lost $300.00!! They want people to shop local?... The word is getting around.

I bought a hat for my daughter that was too small. When I tried to exchange it for something else 3 weeks later, I was told that they wouldn't exchange it without a receipt. It makes no sense and is poor customer service as the hat still had the store tag and was obviously purchased at their store.
Very disappointing.

Well if you haven't been yet, go to Lillies. What a fresh new kind of store in Cedarburg.
I copied this from their Facebook page "Lillies is a family owned & operated business focused on environmental sustainability & social justice, providing responsible options for the things we use in our everyday lives with Fair Trade, natural, reusable and sustainable green alternatives"
The place is cool with something for everyone, baby stuff, jewelry made with recycled materials, hand dyed and hand woven clothes, purses, sport bags...tons crammed in there.
I will be more likely
