As owner/builder, Matt oversees all company operations. He is integral throughout the building process from pre-construction to completion. During the pre-construction phase of the project Matt works with the customer to plan, specify products, budget and order their new modular home. After delivery of the homes, Matt also manages directly many of the projects on-site.
Elise's main focus is to listen to the clients' needs and design a home that reflects their lifestyle. Her creative touch and expertise allows our homes to be designed with spaces that are functional, practical and stylish. CJ is an experienced real estate professional that works with Carina Construction on marketing their homes and assisting clients with additional real estate questions or needs.

We are a husband-and-wife led team dedicated to constructing high quality, affordable, green modular homes. At Carina, we have been building affordable green homes since 2003. We call our homes Planet Friendly for many reasons, but most of all because our homes seek to reduce our personal impact on the planet.

As you consider your design and floor plan for your new modular home, keep in mind that one of Carina's best-used services includes free customization of your home. We've built over 180 homes and only 2 were built exactly to the floor plan from the factory. Because of the modular construction, the interior walls can be moved to your space requirements.
Professional Building Systems, Inc. was founded in April of 2000 and has grown to become one of the largest modular manufacturers on the east coast. PBS produces over 1,000 living units per year, including ranch, cape, and two-story homes as well as apartments, dormitories, schools, and other light commercial structures.

We worked with Carina to have our dream home built in Ithaca. Matt, Elise and their team were excellent all the way through the process. They were understanding of our design goals, helped us develop a vision for the house, and got it done on time even in the middle of a pandemic (the house was finished June 15th 2020). They were also accommodating to our changes and updates to the design during the build. We didn't encounter any issues that were not easily fixed in a professional way throughout the whole process. We could not have been happier. We highly recommend Carina Construction.

Matt and Elise Haney, along with their staff, were warm and welcoming from the initial contact I made to Carina, throughout the entire process. They always made time to work with me and answer my many questions. I was pleased with the professional knowledge they all had. When dealing with the numbers and structural aspect of the build, Matt was exceptional. He also made smart recommendations and suggestions that turned out to be key to the success of the project. It is rare that I am moved to post reviews on line. However, my experience with Carina Construction over the past 8 months has been an experience worthy of comment. The planning stage for my new home was a truly custom design process. Both Matt (builder) and Elise (interior designer) Haney spent many hours with me, getting to know who I am, how I live, what I want in my home, etc. From that, together we designed a home that accommodates and expresses my life and style, stays within my budget, and is perfect in the natural setting I had chosen.
