I so want to love this place. It's local. The building it's in is great. The menu is good. The servers are very nice. But I have two issues with it.
First, I never know what I'm going to get. I have had an excellent meal there, then gone back a few weeks later and had something so profoundly "meh" that I wrote it off. Tried again a long time later, again, "meh." But a friend went in the meantime and raved. So what's up with that?
Second, pandemic precautions feel like the bare minimum. I understand the pressures of trying to keep a business alive -- I

Had a relaxing lunch meetup with family all meeting here from other places---Oneonta is a satellite complex of Cooperstown baseball...how do I put it? Industry? Industriousness? My nephew came here from CA to compete w/his baseball travel team against a bunch of other travel teams. Anyway, our extended family enjoyed a meal on the back deck. I had a good local hard cider whose name now escapes me and a french dip sandwich, which were both great. My wife enjoyed the cuban sandwich. Sister-in-law enjoyed her strong cocktail (too strong for her in fact, she said---most would say that's a good bargain

Noisy restaurant with blaring TVs. Mediocre, over-priced food. The hostess, despite lots of empty tables seated us at the bar. The bartender had a five minute long personal conversation about his daughters before turning to us and rudely demanding a drink order, when we asked for food. Horrible place.

In town for baseball at Dreams Park and we have been having trouble finding places to eat on the week nights. We randomly found this cafe and we're entirely delighted. The service was friendly and attentive, the ambiance was charming and the food was delicious. I had a sea scallop special and it was delicious! I also appreciated the beer selections.

The food is generally good and has good flavor but the service is SLOW. I have been here 3 times and it has been a 3+ hour start to finish meal with very, very long wait times between drinks and apps/meals. Not to mention burgers ordered medium and came out way past well done. Everything tasted great but overall disappointed in our 3rd attempt here.

Absolutely awesome place!! We were just passing through town, but now plan on coming back. Cuban was the best I've had in forever, with homemade pulled pork. Yum!! The Irish coffee was great being a cool, rainy day. Cool place with little trinkets and stuff to buy. Even bought a hat as a pre-Mother's day gift and got a tour of the back deck with the new bar, seating, and lighting. Great food, great beers/drinks, Can't wait to come back!

Great little cafe style restaurant with amazing specials. This place has a very eclectic approach to assembling each entrée. The Pan seared Halibut over a bed of asparagus in the creamy curry sauce was delicious and the scallops over veggie risotto my friend got look amazing as well. Beer selection is also good in addition to full bar. Can't wait to come back in summer to sit on their back patio.

I have been here several times for brunch in the past and have had a wonderful experience each time. This evening, my family and I came for dinner and the service was very slow, I was very disappointed. The inside was empty and the back deck was half full, and everything came out super slow. 20 minutes for our first round of drinks to come, almost 40 for appetizers. We asked for a second round of drinks when our dinners arrived and our drinks came out after we were all finished eating. Our appetizers (flatbread special and scallops) were also cold. Overall not a very good experience and

I say.
If a more upscale brunch spot is what you seek, look no further.
From fresh prepared food to a rotating seasonal menu, this establishment ticks the boxes of a more refined and classy dining experience in oneonta.
You will, however, have to pay for this privilege as this establishment is not only pricier than the competition, it is also seasonal. Worth checking out at least once in my humble opinion.
