Studio Motif is a chic and quaint space available for photo studio space, private parties, corporate meetings and more. We decided to convert an old warehouse space at the rear of our property into a quaint event space. Our event space can be booked as a creative space, a photo studio, for small private parties or meetings and special events of all kinds.
We plan to utilize our event space to showcase a few local businesses at a time each month. Check out our upcoming vendors and/or apply to be one of our vendors. Studio Motif offers hair and esthetician services from some of Durham's elite beauty professionals. Our stylists specialize in all hair types and our esthetician specialized in skincare, brow, lash and wax services.

We offer our creative space and yard space and available parking, just minutes from the heart of downtown Durham. Our inside space holds 35-50 people, depending on configuration.

I am all Natural and because most times I do my own styles, all I ever want really is someone to wash; deep condition, trim and blow dry my hair. I have been to five different salons in this area and they either use to of a Harsh chemical on my hair, dry my hair out to the point of breakage, or cut too much off and never have I been a satisfied customer until now, for once in six years being in this area finally, I've got exactly want I wanted, my hair feels great, soft and healthy and the price was perfect. I am truly satisfied. Thanks, M2M you are the best!

My experience here was amazing!!!! I came in not knowing what u wanted down to my hair and I gave them the pleasure of giving me a full make over with one request, NO CREAMY CRACK!!!! Lol. I must admit minutes after sitting in the chair my hair started falling so I got a lil scared, "Omg my hair is bout to be gone and it's not gonna look right!!!!" When I got out the chair from my full makeover, hair cut color and makeup, I fell in love!!!! I will recommend this salon to everyone!!!! Please support our black businesses!!!!

I have been a client for approximately 4 months. My hair is natural and I have a Silk Press service at the salon. I have been pleased with the outcome. I have my hair done weekly. My stylist is the owner, Rasheeda. While the reviews that are posted here are concerning, I would recommend that women who are natural give this a try for yourself. I am very communicative with Rasheeda and I tell her what is or is not working for me. I find that we have a collaborative relationship. When I leave her salon I feel good about my reflection. I think that says it all.

Like the staff, very friendly women very professional. Very great experience first time visit will return, from the colors of the wall down to the music selection makes for an enjoyable waiting experience. This salon also sells their own products down to beautiful jewelry pieces for reasonable prices. All in all I really enjoyed my experience here

This salon is the reason I will never go to a salon again. I went in with an actual photo of what I wanted. I’ve been natural for three years and never out any chemicals, colors, and barely any heat in my hair. I had a consultation with Rasheeda where we talked about my texture and care routine. My vision was to have an ombre style with dark and honey brown. My natural hair color is 1B so it was supposed to look different but not over the top. I showed Rasheeda the picture and she assured me that she could definitely do the style. I specifically asked if she could do ombre. She gave me a look

I made an appointment with Bri on Thursday evening for Friday at 11am. I could not reach her the previous evening to find out what kind of service I should get, so I chose the best option to my knowledge at the time. I arrived Friday around 10:45am and she was still with another customer. I was seen by her assistant to begin my service (wash, dry, and deep condition). Bri looked at my hair and suggested I get a different service that would be better for my hair but was more time consuming. I agreed, after all she is the "professional". At around 11:45am Bri was still with another costumer

I went to Rasheeda for a silk press on December 19th. I have natural hair but have never worried about flat ironing as Rasheeda had flat ironed my hair many times before. Unfortunately it was not Rasheeda who did my hair. The woman who did my silk press had no experience handling my type of hair and as a result the process was painfully and created unnecessary tangling. Due to this my silk pressed hair matted considerably and I had to wash the press out early. Upon washing my hair I have significant heat damage. As you can imagine I'm devastated.
