According to OSHA, asbestos is a group of naturally occurring minerals used in certain products, such as building materials and vehicle breaks, that resists heat and corrosion. While asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral, frequent or excessive exposure to the fibers can cause serious health issues.
According to the EPA, Vermiculite is a naturally-occurring mineral composed of shiny flakes, resembling mica. When heated to a high temperature, flakes of vermiculite expand as much as 8-30 times their original size. The expanded vermiculite is a light-weight, fire-resistant, and odorless material and has been used in numerous products, including insulation for attics and walls.

There is not too many companies that are as timely, professional, or provide as much quality work as Atlantic.
From the initial walkthrough until completion we were kept in constant contact with what was going on and what all processes were.

The prior owner had solicited an estimate to remove vermiculite in the attic from AAC, and they honored it with me months later after I bought the house. The company was very easy to deal with, friendly with good communication. The crew that performed the abatement were likewise very friendly and conscientious. I was very impressed with how clean the attic looked after they finished!

Jared provided a quote quickly and arranged to squeeze us in due the time sensitive nature of the project.
The crew showed up on time, were clean, efficient and personable.
When they were finished we were amazed at how much they had cleaned, how they removed asbestos from areas in crawl spaces and places we did expect.

Alexa and the rest of the Atlantic Abatement Corporation did an excellent job!!!!!! We unfortunately had water coming up through our floor so after ripping up the laminated we found tile - luckily we had it tested because it came back positive for asbestos. Scheduling was seamless and we got a quote the same day! The team finished our 300sqft area in under 5hrs!!!!! Great job team!!! 10\10 would recommend!!!

Jared and the team at Atlantic Abatement did an incredible job at my home. After water damage that required old asbestos tiles to be removed, Atlantic Abatement was quick to respond in providing an estimate and scheduling the work. Chris and Lucas arrived to perform the work and were courteous, helpful and did a great job explaining the steps they needed to perform to meet state regulations. They went to great length to be as unobtrusive to our daily activity and did a fantastic job cleaning up after the worked performed. Great experience with Atlantic Abatement. I called about some asbestos abatement needed on some basement steam pipes and Jared and Alexa came out to take a look within a couple hours of me calling. They were friendly and knowledgeable and gave me a reasonable quote the same day. The team that came out to do the work did a great job and left the basement cleaner than they found it. Highly recommend!

I want to say that I called 5 different Abatement companies and Jared from Atlantic Abatement was the best of the best! He not only called me back promptly, he took the time with me and explained as well as answered in detail every question I asked! Atlantic Abatement was so helpful! We were installing flooring and the installation team stopped the job upon discovering asbestos. We had a torn up house, building materials everywhere, and a ton of uncertainty. Thank you Jared, Steve, and your hard working crew for all you've done for our family. We cannot thank you enough for helping us through our traumatic experience. Between the job itself, the amount of "stuff" we stored in our finished downstairs and garage, the numerous questions, and even the dramatic crying, I know you had your work cut out for you.
For anyone who may be reading this, the finished basement in our home was flooded due to a frozen water pipe that burst in the wall on 2/14/16. We found a restoration contractor online which began remediation almost a week later
