I can honestly say that after I was done here I have never seen my hair looking better in my entire life. They did such an amazing job and I understand it is a little pricey but it is worth every penny to go here.

My 88 year old friend needed a new beautician after her hairdresser moved away. She's an old fashion tease your hair kind of gal who also needs a perm three times a year. Most salons refrain from doing perms and teasing. However La Coiffure was recommended in honor and honestly we couldn't be happier!
Tiny shop Full of a warm atmosphere lots of Natural light. There are three beauticians Greg, Jim, and Joelle. Everyone has worked On her hair and she looks fabulous.
I feel like we've been there forever. She is treated with such kindness.

Joelle is an artist! What she did with my layered, short hair is incredible! Between her hair artistry and Melissa's professional makeup, I felt pampered and beautiful for my anniversary. Besides being masters at their craft, everyone at La Coiffure was warm, personable, and caring. Joelle even fit in my husband at the last minute so that he felt pampered too! Every time we return to Carmel, we will be sure to visit La Coiffure!!

I had a reasonably easy request of Greg: wash, cut, blow dry, and to do something different that he thought would look good for an age appropriate male customer--a change-something fresh. He was so busy ensuring that everybody was having a good time, he kept cutting, and cutting, and cutting. The front was not especially inspired but for whatever reason I didn't have him turn me around so I could see the back of my hair as well. It wasn't until the day after as I was getting ready that I discovered the absolute mess that he had made including an area about the size of a 50 Cent piece

I was at the very end of my vacation when I called to ask them if they could correct a brassy blonde—I had only an hour before having to be at the airport! These folks were kind enough to shift things around so that they could see me, and they did a fantastic job with the time we had. If I lived there, I'd be going back for all my hair/nail needs!

We have been going to La Coiffure off and on for twenty years. Met Jim and his staff on our honeymoon (we are STILL married) and have enjoyed both haircuts for both, and manicures for my wife. They always treat us nice, even though we are "just tourists" and we can tell they do a lot of local business!

Gwen did my hair for my Big Sur wedding a few weeks ago. She was wonderful - very patient in the trial, willing to spend the extra time to get things right - - same on the wedding day; listened a lot to what i said and made changes until I was happy.
Nancy did my make-up and same thing - - listened to what I wanted and fully delivered. Also had a very good sense for what would "look good" and was able to give advice when needed.
Not an inexpensive service (what place is in Carmel) but worth having hair and make-up I was happy about at the wedding!

I am from out of town and needed a blow dry for a wedding on a Sunday. On time and it looks great. Gwendolyn was very nice and accomodating and even offered to comb it out tomorrow (Sunday) if I needed her help. Could not have been easier and was quick and enjoyable. Parking right behind the salon was perfect. HIghly recommend. Gwendolyn is a real pro!

The absolute worst salon experience I have ever had. The man who was supposed to give me a simple blow out used a shoddy blow dryer (think hotel issue, taped together) burnt my hair because he held it directly onto the brush and got lost in conversation with someone else, and then gave me attitude when I asked him to stop. I suggested we use a nozzle to prevent serious hair damage. He didn't know what I was talking about. I ended up walking out with sopping wet hair. No idea who they paid to write their 6 positive reviews: this place is a disgrace.

I am yelping because I read a yelp from someone who said Helen gave her highlights that were not great. I have been going to that salon for YEARS and have seen Helen give hundreds of highlights. I have NEVER seen a bad one, and I've been going there for 15 or more years.
When I read that, I was shocked. If this person hadn't liked her highlights, I know Helen well enough, that if the client didn't like them, she would have fixed them for her. I was shocked, actually, to see this, when I got on to yelp about something else.

My sister just got married in Carmel and we used La Coiffure Salon. Heather did my mani/pedi and I have to say after 5 days my nails STILL look flawless. This is the best manicure I have ever had. My sister got her hair and makeup tested the day before her wedding and then we both got our hair and makeup done the day of her wedding. Gwendolyn did our hair and Nancy did our makeup. They both did great jobs. I do have to say it was pricey, but it was a once in a lifetime cost so it was worth it. I was definitely the most impressed by Heather and the job she did on my nails though. Seriously. They

Helen squeezed us in last minute (even calling me back on the Sunday before Memorial Day) for a Saturday appointment. I had an early 60's style updo that stayed perfectly on top of my head from 10:30am - 10:45pm! I only took it down during the dirty South hip hop hour of dancing at a friend's wedding. That much booty dancing will shake out even the toughest of hairdo's. Helen's service was impeccable and I've never had so many compliments! I hope to see her again (and her gorgeous younger version of Karl Lagerfeld coworker) on my next trip to Carmel!

I love this place! I was looking for a good hairstylist to do my hair, as well as a make-up artist. Helen did my hair & Nancy did my make-up, they both did an excellent job! I was pretty surprised because it was so windy that day, i had my wedding at the beach and my hair stayed put all day and so did my make-up. Helen & Nancy were both very professional and friendly. They really took there time to make me the prettiest bride that day and they did;) I highly recommend this place!

I was in on 9/1/2012 for my destination wedding makeup and hair. I had never been to the salon before and I was blown away. I ended up looking way better then I ever thought possible!
I was a little hesitant to get professional makeup done because I am such a natural kind of girl and I didn't want to end up looking funny. Jessica listened to what I normally wear and made all of my features look the best that they possibly could. I was in LOVE with what she created. I looked natural, fresh, well rested, young and glowing. Awesome work Jessica! I wish I could have you do my makeup for me everyday

5 stars for Jonathon who gave me gorgeous hair for my destination wedding. Ladies, if you need someone who give you a gorgeous, sophisticated up-do, he is the guy for you. He's young, cute, but really good at what he does. He listened to what I wanted and did exactly what I wanted. I am the pickiest person but he more than pleased me. He was easy to work with and very friendly. My hubby loved my hair. Thanks for making me gorgeous on my special day! It lasted all day, even with the horrible wind. $85 plus tip.

The first time I went to La Coiffure, I had a hair emergency. Literally. I had gone to a girl, whom I had been going to for a year, and she had dyed my hair ORANGE. Big, chunky streaks of ORANGE. It was awful.
I'm a blonde and the orange obviously looked terrible.
I work at Il Fornaio, across the street, ad one of my co-workers recommended that I go there. I called and Jonathan (the sweetest guy EVER) told me to come in as soon as I got off work. He understood my desperation.
Right when I walked in, everyone did the, "Oh My God....." look and I was ushered to the chair. Jonathan
