The Car Carrier
Enjoy door-to-door service when you let us move your car, truck, van, or boat across the country. Your vehicle is picked up at your present location and dropped off at your new location, and you're saved from making that long, tiring drive. We arrange vehicle transportation to and from all points in the United States including Alaska and Hawaii.

If you're moving for work, school, or retirement, count on us to deliver the best customer service. The Car Carrier is based in Glendora, California, and offers car shipping services to customers nationwide. We work closely with moving and storage companies all across the country. Our excellent reputation is built on years of great service.
Services
The Car Carrier is an automobile transportation broker and transport service that is available to customers moving anywhere within the United States, and there is no easier way to ship a car. If you're moving far, you've probably discovered most moving companies don't accommodate cars. They do recommend us.
The cost of transporting an automobile is determined by several factors: the distance involved, the type of vehicle (for example, SUVs are bigger and heavier so they cost more to transport), and whether or not the vehicle is in running condition. If you would like an exact quote for transporting your vehicle, please provide all the details using our contact page or call us at 1-(800) 800-1001.

My vehicle was returned with a shattered window. They refused to accept responsibility. They were rude and completely unprofessional in dealing with the matter. The service is absolutely appalling.

Rude driver. He was abusive to our buddy. Who do you think you are? No one should trust this company. Bad judgment and in my opinion, crooks.

My car was supposed to be picked up in Massachusetts for a delivery in California. The date to be picked up was the 16,17,or18th of May and to be delivered in up to 10 days. Many calls to them with no return calls to find out when to expect my car. Now it is the 5th of June with no car in sight Always some nonsense about how the paperwork is on the dispatcher's desk, the car will be expedited (?), and , of course, they will call me right back. I have never received a phone call, nor an e-mail about when, if I will ever see my car again.
My household goods were a day earlier than expected

Our moving company agent recommended The Car Carrier. Everything looked good, from our contact with the office to scheduling pick up and delivery. They called us on the first day of the three-day window and told us the car would be picked up between 7 and 10 PM. It was one of our last nights in our hometown and it was a bummer that we needed to stick around the house to process the car, but such is life. And then they didn't come. I had a number, from the person who had called earlier to schedule the pickup, but no one answered the phone and I couldn't leave a message. I called The Car

Just a terrible experience. As one other reviewer stated, drivers speak zero English so that's the biggest problem. Communication between driver and the broker is even worse. The car carrier is only a broker, and Alan Auto Shipping is the actual shipper. I was given a guaranteed 3 day window for pickup so based my air travel based on that guarantee, well they were a day late on pick up..., probably would have been even later had I not called them twice a day everyday leading up to that window. So they caused me about $500 in change fee on air travel. Oh by the way the bill of lading states

Had a terrible experience. They are supposed to ship cars from one address to another, but at both the pick up and drop off locations, they acted like it was impossible. They tried to get my pregnant sister to walk a mile in the pouring rain to bring the car to them because they said they couldn't get their truck down her street! Eventually, they came to her and picked up the car but not without plenty of begrudging remarks on the part of the driver. Same thing happened at the drop off site! My roommate had to take a taxi to where they were to get the car! It seems like this would be

I totally agree with everyone else! These guys are completely incompetent! I had my van scheduled to be picked up from August 15-18. It was a delivery from DC to San Francisco. I called every day starting on August 13 to make sure everything was good to go. Every time I called, they said the driver would contact me. They were actually irritated that I called every day to try to nail down a good time for pick up. When I asked for advanced notice, they said that the driver would give advanced notice. Was I a total sucker.

Guess what? The 15th, 16th, and 17th pass by. No calls from the

Worst manager Bob -EVER he will
Not let me talk to owner - WHAT - WHY - he said he reports to no
One but does not own the company !!!' They gave me the worst service ever. I honestly think its because the drivers do not speak word of english so massive confusion between Bob & Melissa & Stephanie and dispatcher ( whom they get to transport your vehicle )then to truck driver. Once the Car Carrier gets ur info any changes they cant handle it. Moved from Boston to LA and no issues so it happened - not much BS but driver SPOKE NO ENGLISH. Didnt even know who he was as he could not even

CONSUMER BEWARE; on a 2012 cross country relocation, I contracted with The Car Carrier to ship my car. Having comparison shopped, by choice I paid nearly a $300 premium to TCC as the agent Tom convinced me to trust my car with his company and he would personally see to it that if there were any difficulties incurred, he would handle them. In short. TCC without my direct knowledge sub-contracted by vehicles move with a company named Cowboy's Trasport, Eustace TX. My car arrived at it's destination with $650 worth of damage and all Tom at TCC could do was put me at the mercy of their

AVOID THIS COMPANY. They were recommended to me by our movers for a move from Rochester, NY to the Bay area. They managed to screw up both the pick up AND the delivery. Furthermore, they are shockingly overpriced. As we would be out of the country for the car's delivery, I emailed them the phone number and delivery address for my brother-in-law who lives in the area and received a confirmation email that everything was all set to go.

For the pickup, I gave them a 3 day window as I was instructed and gave them a Weds-Fri window as my husband and I were leaving the country on Friday.

Wish I could leave 0 stars, they were recommended by my moving company, Moishe's in NY, otherwise I would have researched them prior to handing over my car.

The Car Carrier is one crappy operator! We moved from NY to Utah and had TCC pickup and deliver my car to our new home. First they missed the pickup date, then I was told that the transporter isn't willing to pick up the car at this time but I can deliver it to him. I agreed and asked for the delivery location, of course the girl answering the phone didn't know it but promised to find out and call me back with the info. She

Ditto the previous reviewer's comment: this was the WORST customer service experience I've ever had. I shipped 2 cars from SF to Chicago recently and was quoted 7-13 days shipping time. I shipped the cars separately a few days apart, expecting that the first car would be there when i arrived, having budgeted for a max of 13 days. Each car took 18 days to arrive!!

I understand that there many be extenuating circumstances that cause an initial time estimate to be wrong. However, what really upset me about this experience was my interaction with their customer service reps. Once I got past

Just the worst experience I have ever had with ANY company.

We had to move from DC to San Francisco in September. We went with Mayflower (which was great) but they had recommended "The Car Carriers" for our 2004 Toyota Truck. Not so great.

They picked up my car from Washington DC September 10th telling me that it would be 7-13 days to get to SF.

By September 28th, I was tired of waiting and called the customer service number. What transpired during the call was one of the most awkward and frustrating moments in 1-800 history. I asked the older gentleman on the phone if he could

I used the Car Carrier to send my car from MD to CA because Mayflower (my moving company) recommended them. They were expensive at $1192, but I thought that because Mayflower recommended them it would be worth it. I have a less than 1 year old SMART car (no discount on the little car).

My car was picked up the same day as my house items were picked up from Mayflower. The man who got my car said that it would arrive in 4 days, which was much shorter than the time my house items were set to arrive. The man said it would cost $100 to store my car, until we could pick it up. He also said that if he

In November of 2004 I paid this outfit to $3,276 via cashier's check (they would not accept credit cards, the reasons for which would later become obvious) to transport 3 cars from NJ to CO. They subcontracted the job to an outfit called the Tucker Company, who further subcontracted to a company called Classic Rodeo owned by Carl Leach (who actually transported the cars, and whom we later found out from our insurance company was UNINSURED). Long story short, they dropped off one of the cars (a Ferrari) at night when we were not present to sign for it. They bent the hood and cracked the front
