Raquel received her massage therapy certificate in 1999 from Rising Spirit Institute of Natural Health. Her years of experience have been enriched by practicing in medical spas, with an orthopedic surgeon, Chiropractors, and by partnering with various holistic health care providers.
Raquel is in private practice and contracts with a Chiropractor specializing in neuromuscular, deep tissue massage & trigger point therapy, sports rehab, lymphatic drainage, myofacial release, maternity, cranial sacral and reflexology.Raquel works intuitively, with sense of spirit in connection to the individual, providing a deep healing massage with lasting results.

Had possibly the best massage of my life from Charles and he also gave me some tips to prevent future pain so I could continue in my fitness journey. I unfortunately left with his tip still in my pocket and when I called the next day to see how I could get this to Charles, Raquel was extremely helpful and responsive. I will definitely be back.

A very well run Spa. My wife and I enjoyed the courteous responses of Raquel who helped with setting up our online account and appointments as well as the professional spa/massage experience from Charles. Charles, being a Would definitely recommend to anyone to get their massages - A true Zen Experience. They also have parking available if you do not get street parking on Bridge Street.

This was my first massage and it will not be my last at Zen Wellness. I must say I enjoyed every minute of my Intense massage. Charles Peeples was my masseuse and he did a wonderful job. If you've never been and you use your GPS, when it says your here you'll see a paking lot turn in there and park.

I bought a Groupon for a massage here and when I got there, they were closed. I had an appointment. I called about 10-15 minutes before my appointment time and asked if they were closed, it snowed that day. Then I waited til my appointment time to see if someone would come in. Nobody was there 5 minutes after my appointment time so I left. They were extremely rude on the phone, so I just got a refund from Groupon. I wouldn't even waste my time here dealing with such rude staff, go somewhere else.

Wow. Just wow. Simply not recommending due to poor customer service. I was gifted a Groupon and struggled to understand how to properly use it when booking a massage. When I arrived for my massage I told the receptionist that I had a Groupon and she redeemed it but stated she wasn’t sure it had gone through. I was told once my massage was done that later that day I’d get a call from the owner. I DID NOT receive a call that day so I called the following week and left a VM in the morning. It wasn’t until I then sent an email later that night that Raquel responded to my email stating

I had bought a Groupon for a massage. I had called a couple times and it went to a girls personal cell phone. It does not say Zen Village on her voicemail so you don't know if you got the right number or not. Days later I get a text message from her, telling me to book through their online portal which makes you create an account with them.I put my availability any Sunday, Monday, Fridays and Saturdays. I said I can be with any therapist at any time but I preferred a female. It came back that they do not have any bookings from now (beginning of nov.) through January. I texted the number back

Raquel is the best. Did a great job of fixing some things post shoulder surgery.
I am 3 months out from bilateral tkr. Raquel just gave me the most incredible massage. From my knees down to my feet it has been numb since the surgery. At the end of the incredible massage she rubbed cbd oil on my knees and feet. By the time i walked out the door my feet were feeling normal again and a lot of the numbness was gone from my knees. Thank you Raquel for the wonderful massage today. You are the best.

I bought a Groupon deal for a 60-minute massage with Raquel. I had no issues with booking. I was the first appointment of the day, so she arrived to open the office when I got there and was very friendly. I've gotten many massages, and this was one of the best. I like deep tissue massages, and Raquel was always checking in with me to see what I needed and preferred during the massage. She offered insight into issues with muscle tightness and tension that I have as a result of bad marathon training habits that caused a knee injury. I've never had a massage therapist who could not only key into these

By far, the worst massage I have ever received. I bought a Groupon for a 60 minute massage which I thought would be a nice way to spend my Saturday afternoon but in actuality it was such an uncomfortable experience. I tried numerous times to ask if there was anyway I could schedule an appointment without providing my personal information on the website through making an account but, each time I called the voice messaging box was full so I was forced to make an account in order to use my Groupon. So disappointed that I couldn't even schedule and appointment! When I called I was told that my booking had to be done on line. Being that I was already talking to a live person why not just book me and save me the time. I went on line, booked, and then was required to give my credit card info. I called Raquel back, questioning this as my Groupon voucher was already paying for the massage. She insisted that this was the only way I could book. I texted her inquiring WHY sheneeds my credit card for a massage that's already paid for and she said it was to protect her therapists from cancellations

I had a gift certificate so service was paid for. I had a hard time making an appointment on the website. After speaking to Raquel 4 different times on the phone thought the appointment was set. I showed up and no appointment. I think she is a horrible business person. I guess she does not need a new customer. The therapist I spoke to was blindsided. So, I never got the massage. She was more worried about a credit card to charge if I missed the appointment than making my gift a happy one for the person who gave it to me. She says she cares about people and I sure did not see that side of her

My husband and I booked the Couples Massage Class with Raquel and it was AWESOME! Not only is she amazing at massage therapy, she’s fun, relaxed and totally present. I don't know what on earth the person's problem was. My experience at Zen Village has always been down to earth and therapeutic. It's been my experience with massage that the masseuse will talk with you if you are talkative with them, but if you want a quiet massage, you simply ask for that. Maybe I'm wrong, but that has always been my experience and I've been getting massages from many different therapists for at least fifteen years, so go figure. I always get the most therapeutic massages here, and the effects last months, far longer than anyone else's massage. I

My boyfriend and I got the couples massage class and it was everything! The owner taught our massage class and was very knowledgeable, she was able to answer our questions and taught us a lot. She was also very personable and made the lesson extremely enjoyable. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely go back.
