Conveniently located just minutes from the Fort Riley military base. The Owls Nest Campground opened in March of 2004. Our goal is to provide a quality camping, living, and stop-over retreat. Our campsites are larger than most with grass, trees, picnic tables, dump stations, 30 or 50 amp electrical utility hook-ups, water, sewer, and cable available on select sites only.
If you need propane, it is available upon request. Our campground also offers two coin operated washers and dryers, a complimentary shower facility, 24 hour cable internet access and two fully furnished cabins. Personal on-site help is available from our office staff and camp host.

The owners are extremely helpful. When we arrived they were present helping make sure we got set up and welcoming us. This is definitely a hidden gem. It does have a bit of noise being right next to I70 but inside you can't hear it. Has a wonderful shower and laundry facilities, as well as ice on site. For short or long term I definitely recommend checking this one out.

Small, well laid out campground. They have daily, weekly and monthly rates. Full hook ups, pull thru and back in sites. They're nicely level and really well maintained. A fair amount of shade, which is nice in the Kansas heat.
On the back of the office there is a laundry room with 2 washers and 2 dryers. There is also a shower off the laundry room. They also offer propane tank exchange.

I would give this place 3.5 stars for the visual atmosphere, however, given the noise levels from the interstate and highway, I can't give it four. It has lots of trees but they don't seem to do much to block the constant noise. I did like the contactless check-in. I would stay here again for one night in a pinch but would not enjoy being here long-term.
