Davis Homes began with a simple concept - Jim Davis wanted to build his own home. He had been working for Weirton Steel for 7 years, doing home improvement work on the side with his father-in-law, Dallas "Tex" Perkins and helping his father, Sam Davis, at the Davis Tavern on Pleasant Heights in Steubenville.
After much research, Jim settled on the idea of building a few homes to eventually help pay for the construction of his own. Along with his wife Judi, who worked at Bank One in downtown Steubenville, they began to save money to work towards the goal of building a model home. With the help of their fathers, the Steubenville natives established what was then known as Davis Cedar Homes in 1977.

If my husband and I could do it all again, we wouldn't.
Attached are photos taken UPON POSSESSION OF THE HOUSE.
Please notice the banister on the stairs has paint drips... the spindles on the staircase are poorly installed. You can tell the painters did not remove the spindles prior to staining the banister. We discussed this concern with our project manager, and no one ever came back to fix this.
Additionally, there is a hole in the drywall in our garage that also remained unfixed (see photo).

We've lived in a Davis home for 2 years and couldn't be more pleased. The quality craftsmanship is second to none and we are so happy that we chose Davis when we decided to build our new home. They guided us through the entire building process, provided many different options and made the entire process extremely easy! They have a forever customer in us!

I just moved a month ago to my new home after 10 months, we expect as new homeowner to have everything in perfect and excellent conditions. My overview been a nightmare. They certified everything was 100% working, electrical issues that I had to wait to be repair, broken cabinets and after a month still waiting to be replace, finishing touches are the worst a lot of spots all over the house that didn’t paint, paint all over my floor, missing door blinds that the installers damage my door and still waiting to be repair, brand new appliances that doesn’t work i called and email Davis Homes Warranty

My Daughter just closed on a beautiful Davis built home. If I were ever to build again, I would definitely use Davis! She did several modifications to the plan and they accommodated in making the home exactly what she wanted! Very well built home. Would recommend Davis Homes to anyone looking to build.

Building a new home can be a very stressful experience for a buyer. Davis Homes took that stress away when it came to my new home and i'm so thankful for that. I had all my questions answered throughout the process, and I had all my concerns addressed in a timely manner. It was a pleasant experience from start to finish. As a licensed. Independent professional real estate appraiser I have performed a significant amount of new construction work with Davis homes. My personal experience has been very pleasant as my contact Ashley Fletcher has been excellent, being very professional and knowledgeable during the new construction process being able to provide plans, blueprints and answer any questions relevant to my needs as an appraiser. I have worked with various other builders which have not been so responsive and professional. I would highly recommend Davis builders, based on the professionalism courtesy and knowledge
