If you are thinking of contact lenses, our doctors have had years of experience and advanced training in fitting even the most difficult cases. Often, people who've been told previously they could not wear contacts have been fit successfully in our office. A scleral lens is a large lens that rests on the Sclera and creates a tear-filled vault over the cornea.
Eyecare Associates of Osawatomie was established in 1987 with Dr's Doug and Mark Herriott. The practice has grown with Miami County and currently is the largest private optometric practice in Miami and Linn Counties. Dr. Kari Burchett joined the practice in 2005 after moving from Memphis, Tennessee.
The law gives you many rights regarding your personal health information. You may ask us to restrict our uses and disclosures for purposes of treatment (except in emergency care), payment, or business operations. This request must be made in writing to Privacy Officer named at the beginning of this Notice.
If you're new to contact lenses, the plethora of options can be overwhelming to choose from. Our doctors have years of experience working with all types of contacts lenses. Often people who have been told previously they couldn't wear contacts have been successfully fit in our office. We often have diagnostic contact lenses in your prescription you can wear home the day of your appointment.
Fortunately, for 60% of these patients their symptoms are mild and can be managed with over the counter treatments. However, about 30% have moderate and 10% have severe dry eye. These patients will normally require more aggressive treatment. At Eyecare Associates, we carry over 30 different scleral lens designs to treat even the worst dry eye conditions.

If I could give this business 10 stars I would!! I took my 6 year old son in for an app today. He has had many doctors appointments in his life due to his genetic disorder so he gets very nervous for appointments of any kind. Every person we came in contact with was so wonderful to him. They made him laugh and gave him fun toys to play with. It all made him feel so much more comfortable. He saw Dr Deitch and she was so patient with him. She made the exam fun and explained everything she was going to do to him before she did it. All of the other staff were so sweet too! We will definitely be back

I have never received this type of treatment anywhere. I had two ladies in the office that helped me tremendously. The one helped me two times prior to coming in for my appointment to help me pick out glasses, look at the options, and answer any questions that I had. She also helped with the appointment before the doctor came in and she was so fun and friendly. Also one of the ladies that worked at the desk had me try on her own personal glasses to see if I would like that frame that was available for me and even to let me see how a bifocal was and how to see through them. I was very impressed

For the past 11 years we have used Eye Care Associates for all of our eye care needs. We have 4 children who are now young adults and they still choose to continue with the doctors of this office. Pleasant staff, professional and fun along with doctors who take the time to explain all aspects of your care from your eyes to the billing. Thanks to each of you!!
