Family owned and operated for over a century, Chadwick Funeral and Cremation Service has provided genuine personal and professional care to four generations of neighboring communities. Chadwick Funeral Service was established in 1913 by Fred A. Pressey, who recognized the need in the New London community for a place where families could turn to in their time of need.
Walton W. Chadwick, Fred Pressey's nephew, purchased the business from his uncle in 1957. The home is currently owned and operated by Charles and Marion Hafner (Walton's son-in-law and daughter), who purchased the home in 1991. The Chadwick Funeral Service lost two wonderful members of its family in September of 2002 when Walt Chadwick passed away, and in 2005 when Virginia Chadwick passed away.

Services
Staff members of Chadwick Funeral and Cremation Service LLC. are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors. Marion joined her father, Walton W. Chadwick, Sr., operating the funeral home after finishing college at Colby-Sawyer College and Mount Ida.
Our elegant funeral home is conveniently located at 235 Main Street in New London, New Hampshire. During 2012, we renovated our chapel to accomodate larger groups and hold more funerals in our home. We redesigned our gathering area to offer families a place to share memories while enjoying coffee, tea and refreshments.
At Chadwick Funeral and Cremation Service, we understand the importance of funerals. Funeral services, found in every society that has ever existed, are important in that they allow us - the living - to honor and remember a life that has been lived. They confirm the significance of a person's life, and provide a way for family and friends to come together to express feelings, emotions, and offer support.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.
