John Paul II High School
John Paul II High School is the premier Catholic college preparatory high school serving families in the greater Collin County area. Founded in 2005, JPII is committed to forming the next generation of effective and ethical servant leaders in our community and the world. Our formative education of the whole person; academic, spiritual, emotional, and physical, leads to personal transformation.

Inspired by the legacy of our patron, Pope St. John Paul II, we must rouse the minds and hearts of our students, stir their faith, and empower them to create a future based on hope and love. Vision: We will make a difference in the world by walking in the footsteps of Pope John Paul II. Mission: To develop leaders who are critical thinkers and effective communicators, committed to service and rooted in faith.
Services
Inspired by the Holy Spirit and grounded in Catholic Social Teaching, we believe that our diversity is an inherent gift that unifies and strengthens our community. True to our Mission, we remain committed to fostering a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive space for all members for the Cardinal Family.
As educators at John Paul II High School, we have a moral and legal responsibility for the well being of minors and vulnerable adults as they pursue their education and activities within our school community. We have a fundamental obligation and deep commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for our students and their families.
The integral formation that students receive from Catholic schools engenders a lifelong responsibility to God and fellow man. Recipients of a John Paul II High School education are equipped with the tools to become morally grounded, critically minded, and socially responsible leaders in our society.
This is a remarkable school, with a committed and talented faculty, active and engaged students, and a devoted alumni network. These people, combined with the school's identity as an educational and community leader, make John Paul II High School an exceptional place for your child to learn, to grow, and to serve others.
International students must meet the same requirements as all other students and be fluent in English, reading, writing and speaking. International students must demonstrate their English ability through the admissions process and also by taking either the TOEFL or the iTEP SLATE and must interview, in person, prior to acceptance.

We had one son graduate in 2020 and our daughter is finishing her sophomore year in 2021. We are leaving because the school's theology is not Catholic but "woke" social justice nonsense. We were pretty involved parents, Our daughter plays sports and is a straight A student, our son was captain of the CC team and very active in clubs at the school. Some of the teachers are quite good, the theology department is uniformly awful. The school is presenting a shallow version of Catholicism/Christianity so if you want your kids inoculated against a relationship with God then this is

Having been in the Prosper schools k-8 we are enormously happy that our daughter attends JP2.

Yes, the tuition is expensive.
Yes, it's a bit further from our home.
However the attention our daughter gets is completely worth it.
Pay now or pay later!
It's the old public vs private scenario.
JP2 is not for every student. But if you are spending money on tutors and your child is being left in the dust of public schools then this might be the spot for you. The teachers and administrators know every student by name and require basic standards of their students like being polite, looking

JPII is an exceptional high school. Teachers and administration are attentive, care about their students and want them to succeed. Whether they are regular or AP classes, there are lots of choices offered. We are extremely happy with this school, love the camaraderie amongst the students and appreciate the continued outreach to the community. Keep up the great work molding our future leaders JPII.

Below average school. Sports are eh, academics are ok, but the student body feels like a public school. Lots of druggies, little enforcement. If you want to go to a catholic school, I'd look to Jesuit or Cistercian before JP2, depending on your desired academic rigor. BL is not as good but better. Girls should look to Ursuline or BL, but the boys at BL are undesirable.

Don't waste your money. The school is very clean and presentable, however, don't be fooled by appearances. The teaching methods are outdated. They excuse substandard teaching practices by saying the curriculum is vigorous. Some of the teachers are excellent, but others are poorly trained and abusive to students. Don't trust your precious child to this school. It is a discredit to the Catholic Church.

I have one son who recently graduated and is a freshman in college. He was accepted to all universities he applied to and was offered academic scholarship to almost everyone of them! He accepted to the school of his dreams and is thriving! He feels more than prepared for the rigor of this university. My other son still attends JPII and goes early and stays late as he enjoys the school, staff, and the friends he has made. He is excited to be a part of their NEW lacrosse program! The teachers are vested in preparing the students academically, socially, athletically, spiritually, and emotionally for

My daughter has been going here since her freshman year and loves it! She knew 1 person when she first started here and made friends quickly. The choices for AP classes is competitive and I do think it has prepared her for college. The classes are pretty small and I really think that helps compared to a public school. I highly recommend this school!

This is such a beautiful high school. The faculty and staff that I have come into contact with have always been so friendly and professional. They are very accommodating to visitors. Each time I've come, I've spent most of my time in the gym area. They have two large gyms for athletics and class activities. The gyms are well lit and the lights are set to auto sensors so if you dont use one side of the gym, the lights on that side go out.

This seems to be a really great school. If you have to come for an athletic event you're definitely coming to one of the better schools facility

Not a good school. The teachers are inexperienced and the administration will say anything to get you to pay the full tuition in advance. This school has been around long enough to improve on so many levels and they haven't. Shame. I would have liked all of my kids to attend but after my oldest went there we knew this would not happen.

If you are thinking of sending your kids here, I would dig really deep and make sure you are prepared to let your kids go to a school that's sub par. There are so many other schools that are better. The exterior of the school and the cafeteria are fantastic and almost have to be because once you get to what's going inside the classrooms, you will be horrified. The curriculum is below the level of the Plano ISD curriculum (which is free). The teachers are inexperienced (many are first year educators) who do not have that certain level of expertise needed to teach teenagers (parents
