Retainers are necessary at the end of any orthodontic treatment, whether you're using Invisalign or traditional wire braces because it takes time for teeth to get used to their new positions.

Here at Holmes & Palmer Orthodontics we offer clear aligners, an effective, low-profile alternative to traditional braces. We've found that some of our patients greatly appreciate this orthodontic option over traditional braces. Using gradual force, clear aligners gently move teeth into alignment without the use of metal wires or brackets.
At Holmes & Palmer Orthodontics we offer digital impressions for Invisalign and Sure Smile as the alternative to traditional impressions. Digital impressions use cutting-edge laser and scanning technology to create a virtual 3D replica of the inside of the patient's mouth. The entire process only takes minutes, and the digital impressions eliminate some of the errors that come up with traditional impressions.
Enamel shaping is a process by which Drs. Holmes & Palmer uses a sanding disc to carefully remove small amounts of tooth enamel, then polishes the area. At Holmes & Palmer Orthodontics, we perform this procedure alongside orthodontic treatment, when necessary. Not all dental problems can be solved with enamel shaping, but it is a great option for improving the appearance (and in some cases even the function) of teeth with smaller imperfections.

All the office staff at Holmes & Palmer orthodontics have been extremely friendly, accommodating & patient with my nervous 9 year old. They’ve helped him & myself understand the plan of treatment & answered any & all questions either of us have had. We’re early in our treatment plan, but so far we’ve had wonderful experiences with Dr Palmer & all the staff we’ve interacted with.
