Services
In a hot market, realtors pop out of the woodwork, and a buying or selling experience can turn into a nightmare, as I have experienced. This has never happened to me in the few times I've worked with Del Forno. They have always been honest, direct, and came through for me each time. There's no substitute for experience and knowledge.

Nov. 9 update -- received a call today that my rent for this month was still due. I've already complained several times that my rent payments have been made even though the online amounts are wrong. So today I had to walk them through my payments -- all three of them -- so they could understand that rent has been paid. And paid early! Apparently, they were unable to check their own records as to whether they've received money from me.

I have no idea how this company is in business. We bought a place and the previous owners were apart of an HOA with this company's property management "department". We wanted to know what services were provided for the money we were paying each month.
I called the number listed in their website and someone named Raquel answered like she was rudely answering her personal phone. I was passed around to different people via email and would never receive responses. After several emails and a voicemail still no luck.
I did however receive an email reminding me about my monthly payment

We lived on 8th Street near Hamilton Park for 5 years; the first 3 years were amazing, but then the management company switched over to the absolute worst, Del Forno. Del Forno did not have any sense of urgency when our A/C went out during a heat wave in July. It took multiple attempts to get them in to even look at it, but then they said the whole system needed to be replaced. It then took weeks to get window units put in temporarily. During this time, the person at the front desk was extremely rude and Rob (the property manager) had gone MIA.

Dawn at Del Forno Real Estate was incredibly helpful helping me and my fiancee find an absolutely beautiful 1.5 room studio within 30 minutes to my office in Midtown Manhattan via the path PATH... with NO FEE
She not only was receptive to our idealistic budget of $1200-$1400, the apartment she found us was well within!
I would gladly recommend Dawn@delfornorealestate (.com) to any of my friends or colleagues!

Del Forno is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. I have never had a worse landlord/property management company. Aside from my apartment leaking and the windows not shutting causing it to be 57° in my home and soaking everything, there was also black mold from all the neglect. They will never answer you phone calls and they will also barge into your home without permission when it's convenient for them dealing with other issues and ignore you as you ask them to fix the issues you've been asking them to resolve for two years. I lived in my home for two years when the fire

Many basic things were met yet when things went went bad, they went very bad. Most off the staff were decent human beings and were juggling too many properties to manage them properly.
Dana, the office manager, and Officer in the firm had very few people skills. She is a bully hired to interact with the firm's clients, a very poor choice. I unfortunately lived at 112 Mercer right next door to the office. I had her yell at me in the office on one occasion when I asked a reasonable question and I involuntarily stepped back from her tirade. She tried to belittle me on others.

Was on the hunt for months for a Jersey City office for an acupuncture practice. Thought it would never materialize, but then my prayers were finally answered by Del Forno Real Estate. Have been a commercial tenant of the Del Forno Real Estate company for over a year now. Nothing but the most positive experience. Had never gone through the commercial leasing process before and they were patient, professional, and handled all my concerns. The building my office is located in, the Vito A. Lofts, is a gem. No expense was spared regarding workmanship and quality of materials when it came to rehabbing

Avoid dealing with Del Forno at all costs. My boyfriend and I took the cash for our application back and walked out of their office after they tried to get us to sign for an apartment we weren't sure we wanted until we knew for sure from the landlord we could get parking. They didn't want to bother asking the landlord about all of our concerns-- they only wanted our money. Super nice when showing us a lovely apartment, but horrible when we were about to hand over money.
And by the way, I am SO glad we didn't.
I walk by the house all of the time and there are constantly scream kids

I really wish yelp had zero or negative stars. The management is HORRID. Do not rent from these people!!!!!! I've only lived in my apartment for 2 months and I already am experiencing water leaks and broken central air for more than a week. I'm really scared for the winter months living under these people. During the hottest days of this summer, our AC broke leaving it to be 87 in our apartment. We called and called and they kept saying they had to call the owner to see if that's something they or we had to fix. Where is this owner?! In Maui????!! It's been a week and we had

When I first moved to Jersey City many years I used Del Forno - great service etc. However when I moved from a brownstone they had sold and said they would help me move - not one returned phone call, ditto with my next move - once again I called to get more info on a listing and guess what - two days later - nothing. As others have said - paying a broker fee is a pain but if the service warrants it .... in this case I guess they are making so much money they dont need the revenue.

TAKE HEED TO THE BAD REVIEWS!!
There is a reason why so many reviewers say the staff is unprofessional and rude. The office manager is the worst. Their buildings in Jersey City are horribly managed and their rent accounting is awful. After 2 years living under this slumlord, I had enough and moved out. I even had to SUE THEM in order to get my security deposit back. Crooks!

I had a great experience working with Dawn at DelForno. She responded promptly to my initial message, and she was flexible enough in her schedule to show my roommate and I several places in downtown Jersey City on very short notice. Once we found the right place (luckily with no broker fee) the application was quick, transparent and painless. Dunno if it's just me or Manhattan, but renting in the city was not this easy for me last time around.
Anyway, I haven't had much exposure to the maintenance/propoerty management team (they haven't responded to my email in over a week -- I

I've been in my apartment for five years and the prospect of looking for anew place made me anxious, to say the least. Jesse Toledano at Del Forno helped make that process pretty painless.
I called Jesse about a listing on Craigslist, and was surprised to learn that the apartment a) actually existed, and b) had not "just been rented." My wife and I made an appointment to see the place. Jesse was accommodating and worked around our schedules. I went up to see the apartment, but my wife was running late. Jesse said we could text him when she got there, and he came back to let us

If I could give this place a negative rating, I would. This "company" employs some of the most unprofessional, unorganized individuals I have ever encountered. After numerous months of back-to-back problems that went unaddressed and unanswered, we decided we needed to get out. Their properties are poorly kept, barely managed, and never followed up on. Our issues ranged from: gas leaks, broken smoke detectors, (no) hot water, leaking faucets, no water pressure, broken heat, broken AC, mice, insects, structural issues, nails sticking out of the floorboards, leaking refrigerator, etc

Del Forno are completely rude and unprofessional. We gave notice that we are moving out of our apartment next month, and our lease states (and the agency said) they would give us 24 hours notice to show the apartment. Great. Except we are getting absolutely NO notice and random knocks on the door. Who knows how many people they are letting in when we aren't home. On top of which, I asked if they could preferably only show the apartment during the evening on weekdays since I have a dog who can get pretty grumpy with strangers and they refused. Hopefully I don't get sued for a stranger
