I tried looking all over the DFW metroplex for an affordable foreign citizenship photographer and they all wanted hundreds.
I'm sad I didn't get the owner's name but he was the most kind and friendly person out there. Immediately as soon as I walked in he was friendly and making jokes making sure it was an enjoyable experience. He talked to me about my job and just had a nice conversation about that.
When it came to the picture he did it all in less than a minute and didn't take long to develop it.
He also refused to take my money until after he had me double check the requirements and he measured

Look no further! The gentleman who owns this shop is a treasure and I would protect him with my life. I came for newborn photos anticipating a struggle, but it was a piece of cake with my 1 year old.
My photos also turned out so good that I'm now forced to wake up more than two hours before my flight so that they don't turn me away at security. Wow Is the only thing I can say about this place. I went in to get a enlargement done and was instantly welcomed to a man that just has the best attitude about life and on top of that it only took less than10 minutes to print out a 16x20 picture! He also put the picture in the frame that I went to grab from the store. So overall I am very pleased about this place. Will be going back.

All the other reviews are true. I've been putting off getting a new passport photo, because ugh, aren't they always awful ?! It seems like the chain pharmacies intentionally do bad photos lol
The photographer is such a nice man. He will ask you what type of photo you need (US or foreign passport or visa). He uses real photography lighting ! And will take multiple shots to find the one you're happy with. Such a great experience.

Me and my husband visited Terry's studio after reading raving reviews about his professional photos and we were super impressed. He pays attention to all detail like writing DOB in correct format and makes sure that photos meet the specifications perfectly using scale . We enjoyed having him as our photographer and would recommend him to our friends.He does have some great anecdotes to share as well..

I think the reviews all speak for themselves. The owner is such a sweet man, and very fun to talk to. The service took 5 minutes, but my Husband and I stayed to talk for a while. The passport pictures turned out absolutely perfect and he makes sure of that so there are no issues with your application. Great service!

My son and I couldn’t have had a better experience getting a Canadian passport photo taken. After struggling to find someone to take a proper photo for months, with the needs and regulations met, we drove the hour and a half to APV Studios and were met with the happiest and kindest of service. We laughed and had a great time while getting the photo taken and it was exactly as needed. I will recommend coming here to everyone.

My daughters and I needed Canadian passport photos and I expected to have to give an in-depth description of exactly what we needed. He pulled out the exact same information that I brought to explain. He was very knowledgeable of the specifications. I’m recommending APV to everyone I know that needs passport photos. I had an extremely positive experience with APV photos. I had been trying to get photos for a Canadian green card, and Walgreens and other stores like it we’re unable to figure out the size of the photo or other differences between American passport photos. I called ahead, and when I arrived, the owner had all the documentation for the dimensions, and was very familiar with all sorts of country requirements. He’s also a really nice guy, and helped me out fast. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

This place looks humble and only takes cash, but it's the best. Terry, the owner, is eccentric, but very nice, friendly, and professional. The search for getting visa photos for Chinese visas was a big pain (Walgreen's and CVS employees tried to help, but didn't know anything beyond passport photos), so it was a relief to find someone who knew all the specifications, measured centimeters, etc. of visa application photos.

It's not often you need to find a place for passport photos, but when you need them, it's nice to fine a place that's local. I found APV Studios on Yelp and realized it was only a couple if miles from my house on a good traffic street. I arrived just as the owner opened shop. About the owner he's funny, efficient, quick, funny, asks the right questions so he knows what kind of photo to take, funny and very professional. In and out in about 20 minutes and it only took that long because we had a good conversation going and there wasn't anyone waiting behind me. Great

This is the best place to get your passport photos taken. The owner knows all the requirements for all countries and is very precise to make sure the photos exactly meet every item. Picture quality is great and you can be in and out quickly. We have been repeat customers for passports for two different countries. We have never had the photos from here rejected but we have from other places.

I am as pale as a person can be without being an albino and I have had ZERO professional pictures that I like and look like me. There are only snaps of me from my childhood, as my school photos were always so rotten my mom didn't buy them. Most portraits, I look like Mortitia Adams. I am extraordinarily hard to light. Red eye is a given. And since passport pics have so many restrictions, I didn't want to try wearing darker makeup to make lighting me easier. If you need a passport photo taken, this is where you should go, no question. It might be a little bit more than Walgreens, but you are likely going to have to get that Walgreens photo re-taken. I have had my American and Canadian passport photos taken at APV Studios and never had a problem. Very quick and professional.
I should also say that I hear stories of the foreign consulates in Houston recommending this place to expat citizens living in Dallas and the surrounding areas.

I found Terry and APV studios after a long search online and becoming frustrated at how difficult it was to get my passport photos done. I had previously been to Walgreens; and my photos were rejected by Passport Canada , and I was worried I would have to fly home and get it done - costing me far more than just a 2 hour drive to Dallas. Luckily, Terry has all the specs for a Canadian passport (to include the stamps on the back) and he is such a fun and positive person to be around! This place is well worth the drive from Dallas if you are in need of a United Kingdom and Great Britain passport photo! After UPS, FedEx, and Walgreens all told me they couldn't do the photo dimensions of 45mm high by 35mm wide, I came here and extremely glad I did. The owner Terry was delightful, thorough, and meticulous; he even measured the size after to make sure it was correct and that I liked the way I looked! I received my completed passport with approved photo back today. I highly recommend this place and will be returning in the future.

One of the ONLY places in Dallas that knows how to properly process a CANADIAN PASSPORT photo. For those not familiar, Canadian passports have very strict requirements when it comes to the photo (size, expression, lighting, shadow, etc.) - it is rare to find a studio that is well aware of these requirements and APV is one of those studios.
The employees are very kind and humorous. I'll definitely be back!

I told him I wanted my head to be the maximum size the passport requirements allowed and he listened. I also instructed him to minimize appearance of a double chin. I asked him to take a few photos from a slightly elevated angle to minimize my double chin, so he took pics from on top of a stool. I had asked him to show me the picture before he printed, to avoid issues, but another person came in and he got distracted with her. Turned out not to be an

Super Crazy Terry is super crazy GREAT!!!! My wife and I are dual citizens and needed our Canadian passports renewed. We have both had passports rejected in the past from Canada due to photos not adhering 100% to their requirements. Terry KNOWS what he is doing. The customer who wrote a review stating Terry wrote the date in pen instead of a stamp which made the photo invalid was either wrong or got someone at the passport department in Canada who was wrong.
